Cutie Mark: His cutie mark is the constellation of Cygnus Swan
Personality: Charming, sweet, funny, and friendly. Cygnus is a very loyal and caring pony. He's a little bit shy but once he comes out of his shell you will find that he's more quiet than anything. He loves to read and study astrology and magic, though he's not much of a flyer. Cygnus would rather run or walk until the muscles in his legs are on the verge of collapsing before he would choose to fly to his destination. He mostly feels like when he flies, he's putting himself above other ponies which he does not see himself as being despite his snobbish family.
Backstory: Cygnus is the first born son of three siblings, each named after a different constellation. Their dynasty was built around the stars which makes it reason enough for such worship of constellations and alignments. His father, Lord Ursa Major, and his mother, Lady Cassiopeia, have named him the rightful heir to their throne. And though Cygnus knows that he must follow his duty, he feels in his heart of hearts that he was meant for better things in his life than sitting on a throne of bits. There was no real purpose to his royalty other than money and the idea absolutely disgusts him; however, he would never tell his family. Instead, he spends his time sleeping during the day so he can be up at night, as the rest of his family does anyway. Even most of their common servants sleep through the day to serve them at night.
The family praises Princess Luna, for obvious reasons, and even have a couple of portraits in various halls of their grand mansion that is located on the hillside of a mountain. It makes it hard for regular ponies to travel, which is why Cygnus himself was the first to demand that there be a proper path built for those who could not climb nor levitate. It was unfair that only those who could fly were able to visit the home. Especially since some of his cousins avoided the place, having been born without wings or magic (part of his family diverged from the pure-blood line and fell in love with regular ponies).
Anyway, as Cygnus grew, so did his desire to leave the mansion and find his own way in life. He plans on leaving any day, he just needs a good reason...
