• Dewfall P. Tricis

    Literally Snails
    • Age: 88

      Gender: Female

      Species: Unicorn

Appearance: In her youth, she was an average sized mare with very light blue fur, a dark blue coat, and lovely pink eyes. Obviously, due to her age, her skin has become wrinkled and saggy, her once blue hair has faded to a shade of light grey, and her eyed have faded to a less brilliant shade of pink.

In her old age, she's come to relying on a wooden crutch on her right front leg to alleviate growing joint pains. However, she is still surprisingly spry for a pony of her age.

Cutie Mark: A slightly uncurled scroll on worn parchment. Although she has learned many skills, her true special talent is her unique method of teaching.

Personality: When she was younger, she was extremely patient with her students, but also more arrogant, focussing only on developing their physical skills.

After her failure with one of her students (Mason), she began focusing more on recognizing negative signs from her students and also gradually became less patient with them.

Currently, she comes off as being embittered and short. Though that may be the case, her reason for acting this way is because she no longer sees the necessity of acting politely.

She is also slightly a-moral. She has had many opportunities in her youth to use her strength for good, but she never wanted to be a crusader of justice. She prefers to only use her power when it is necessary for her, and teaches her students the same.

As a teacher, she is proud of her student's success and wants to see them succeed, but she is also extremely harsh on them. Part of her teaching method involves reprimanding and insulting her students until they learn not to fail.

      Backstory: Early Life:

She was born as an only child to a loving family in Canterlot. She grew a strong connection with her first school teacher and was the last in her class to earn a cutie mark when she realized that she wanted to be an instructor.

However, as she progressed through her schooling, she realized that she didn't want to be a traditional academic teacher. She discovered her talent in the magical arts independently and attempted to better herself so that she could become a magic instructor.

When she was old enough, she passed the exam to get into Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns and studied various forms of magic for the remainder of her childhood, making a few friends in the school along the way.

The Royal Guard:

After graduating the school, she spent the next several years of her young adult life traveling across northern Equestria, seeking lessons from various masters and taking odd jobs to get by. This continued until she joined the Royal Guard at the age of twenty and slowly became promoted to Commander over the course of her first year of service.

(Note that female Royal Guards to exist in the comics.)

Starting Her Career:

After five years of service, she settled back in Canterlot and began instructing students in the used of combat and magic. She eventually became well known for the quality of her teaching and the difficulty of her lessons. She successfully continued this business for over five years.

Greatest Failure:

An ambitious student named Mason arrived at her school one day when she was thirty years old and easily passed the qualifications needed for her to teach him. After some time of training him, she began to see signs of Mason's foolhardiness, but decided to ignore them.

Unfortunately, the problem continued when Mason had a violent outburst toward her and said that she was wasting her strength. Mason promised her that he would not complacently grow old like she was willing to and said that he would find a way to keep his strength forever. This was when she made the greatest mistake of her life. She demanded that he leave her presense and never come back, saying that she "wouldn't train a disrespectful idiot."

Mason peacefully left, and she allowed him to go. If she had guided him, things would have been drastically different, but instead, she pushed him away and Mason perused his goal without guidance.

Becoming a Recluse:

One year after pushing Mason away, she received word of his fate. Mason had participated in an underground tournament run by wealthy crime lords and had won using the training she had given him. As his prize, Mason was granted his wish. Through forbidden magic, he became a hybrid form of monster who would never age and had power absolute.

Refusing to face what she had helped create, she retired early and moved into a mountain cottage far outside of Canterlot where she stayed for many decades. Her one final goal in life became finding a worthy, and wise apprentice, so that she could share her power with someone worthy before she dies.
