Personality: Diamond Dust is a fairly happy pony in general. She's confident and kind, and rather tomboyish. She's not afraid to speak her mind, and can be a bit bossy at times. She knows how to lay down the rules, and while she likes being the leader in a group setting, she's a decent follower. She can be stubborn at times. <br />She dislikes when anypony brings up Sombra's reign. She was young when he first came along, and remembers it well. <br />She has a fuse on the short side, but if you do make her angry, she's likely to quickly blow up at you, then give you the silent treatment for a little while. Then she usually just gets over it. She's not one to hold a grudge.

Backstory: Diamond was born and raised in the Crystal Empire before King Sombra attacked. Her mother was a Crystal Pony, her father a Pegasus. She was bullied a bit in fillyhood for not being a full Crystal Pony, but she ignored them as best she could. She befriended a full Pegasus colt, Night Dart. <br />Then, King Sombra came for the first time.<br />She remembers being around 12... Young enough for it to haunt her but old enough that at the time she knew she shouldn't just sit on her flank and wait for somepony to take action. Her wings were chained up so she wouldn't fly. Night Dart and his parents suffered the same fate. Her father didn't, as he was in Cloudsdale on business, and had left just days before the attack. <br />One night, she got Night Dart and worked together to free their wings. Then they got to planning. <br />For nights after that, they would find fillies and colts younger than them - they didn't deserve to suffer - and snuck them out of the empire, taking them to Diamond's mother's place. It was safe there, as the house itself had a basement that only her family knew how to get in and out of. <br />They continued this action for quite some time, only able to get a few fillies and colts to safety a night. <br />Eventually, the Royal Sisters got word of Sombra's doings, and stopped him. Diamond Dust's father was still in Cloudsdale, so he didn't disappear with them. <br /><br />She had already gotten her cutie mark. It had been a particularly cold evening, and she founda large chunk of ice. Slowly, she started sculpting a shape out of it with just her hooves to see what would happen. <br />It ended up fairly nice. Not great, or even that good, but a tad impressive for her first try. When she showed her mother, the mare happily congratulated her on both the sculpture and her new cutie mark. <br /><br />When she was 16, her mother died of illness. She mourned her mother deeply and felt like giving up often, but vowed to move on, because she knew she would want her to be happy. <br />She opened up an ice sculpture shop in her house to be able to make a living. It wasn't extremely popular, but still got her enough money to get by. <br /><br />Two years later, she befriended a Crystal Unicorn named Crystal Light, and a regular Pegasus named Icy Stars. They easily became good friends, and they both went to work at Diamond's shop, as their own talents were similar. <br />Since then, Crystal has moved in with Dianond and Ice moved into an apartment a short fly away from the shop. <br />
