Appearance: She always has a sky-blue baseball cap, worn backwards, that sports the logo of her favourite baseball team; The Cloudsdale Thunderbolts.
Cutie Mark: A baseball bat and a hockey stick crossed behind a blue lightning bolt. It represents her love and talent for competitive sports, especially baseball and hockey. The lightning bolt represents her quick reflexes.
Personality: Double Play is an energetic and confident filly, borderline cocky. She's very competitive, and will accept any challenge to any game by anyone. She isn't afraid to stand up for a friend either, and will get right in the face of anyone giving her or her friends trouble.

Though, despite being brave and energised, she's not exactly a genius. She's just barely passing school in terms of the likes of science and math grades, often falls asleep in class, and would prefer to get outside and practice her swing than study for a test. As a result, she doesn't exactly have the highest grades.
She's the kid who'll constantly be leaning over to ask for answers to a test, put down any random answer she can think of, or just doodle.

She's friendly, chill and quite down to earth, even if she comes up with theories that only make sense to herself.

Ironically, she has a fear of heights, and standing on clouds makes her nervous.
Backstory: Double Play was born in Ponyville, her father being a pegasus weather analyst in Cloudsdale, and her mother a local earth pony gym teacher.
She was very close to them, and always admired their athleticism. Her dad was an avid baseball enthusiast, and taught her how to pitch and swing. She even went to a few games with him.
In the winter, her mother would take her to the frozen lake and they would all play ice hockey together.
She loved both her parents' athletic talents so much, she wanted to be a great sports pony when she grew up!

Considering she wasn't the most academic filly, her parents were more than happy to let her take it up.

However, her dream of a professional flying career changed one summer, during her first week of flight camp. She learned how to hover and fly around at a safe pace easily enough, but for some reason, she just couldn't wrap her head around the more advanced fundamentals. Despite being a pegasus, her wings just weren't doing what she wanted them to do. This got her some funny looks from other campers, but she was a determined filly, and wasn't going to let a learning curve keep her down.
In fact, one afternoon she decided to practice her speed. She indeed went much faster - too fast, in fact, and she lost control. She halted in midair after crashing through a cloud, and plummeted toward the distant earth. She was in too much of a panic to focus and flap her wings properly.
Thankfully, a camp councillor's quick acting saved her life, but her near-accident left her in such a shock that not only did she beg her parents to take her out of camp, but she had also developed a fear of heights.

Essentially grounded and her confidence shaken from the incident, Double became more quiet and reserved, and spent a fortnight not doing much with herself in terms of sports.
Until one day, she decided to go out into the park, and passed by a group of foals preparing to play baseball on the grass. She was surprised to see a filly bound up to her and ask if she wanted to join in since one of their friends couldn't make it. She decided to brave her worry of performing in public and agreed, starting as a batter. Being in a more comfortable environment, her worries melted away as she prepared, and she gave a powerful swing that left the other kids, and herself, in awe as the ball nearly landed in the pond.
Instead of being judged like how she feared, she was praised for having such a good swing, and was happily welcomed into the game.

She spent the rest of the summer playing with them, discovering her agility and surprisingly fast running speed. She took up rollerblading, and started practising her hockey with it when she got good enough.

Nowadays, she's well known in school for her athletic prowess, and infamous for lack of drive in the classroom, just barely getting passing grades and falling asleep during lessons from being worn out. Or just that bored.
