Cutie Mark: Downtrod's cutie mark is a cowboy hat; it is representative of his hardworking and amiable character.

Personality: Downtrod was always a hardworking, dependable pony, even as a colt. He did what was asked of him, often without protest or question. He's the sort who, while enjoying time with those he cares about, is less sociable than some other ponies and prefers to work in silence, getting the job done. He can seem grumpy and cold sometimes, but he is very caring in actuality.

Backstory: Downtrod originates from Dodge Junction, where he lived a happy, but laborious childhood. He got his cutie mark fairly early on in life, and in fact has little memory of the event, just vague pictures of himself helping his father to fix a wagon and drag heavy boxes to their destination. When he got old enough to work, he took up a job hauling crates of cherries and loading them onto trains for export. He also makes the time to tend his family's garden and do repairs on the house, as well as helping just about anypony who asks for help. As they got older, his parents retired and took leave of Dodge Junction, making a new home for themselves in Fillydelphia, and leaving Downtrod their old home and garden. He now resides alone there alone and continues to work as always. He has few friends and a growing collection of antique (and mostly non-fucntional) weapons.
