Appearance: Beta's coat is a very light shade of brown, very close to peach colored. He has a greying brown mane and tail. (His hair began turning gray at 35, presumably because of his high levels of stress. His eyes are a dark shade of blue and he wears a thick pair of prescription classes.

If Beta Ray is a doctor in the RP, he will also be wearing a lab coat.
Cutie Mark: A large magnifying glass, symbolizing his scientific research and discovery. He's particularly adept at analysis and scientific observation.
Personality: Dr. Beta's intelligence comes at a great price. He has very little experience with social interraction and thus is greatly unintelligent in the ways of social interactions with other sentient creatures of any kind. In fact, he has spoken to himself far more than anypony else, including his parents. Beta's social skills mostly consist of avoiding conversation all together, something that he has gotten very good at.

Another drawback is his extreme fearfulness. He is extremely jumpy and can be frightened by a wide variety of things. One thing he does when he is nervous or scared is babbling random, irrelivent facts and data.

List of greatest fears:
- water
- fire
- Any large height, especially without a guard rail.
- Beetles, bees, wasps and spiders.
- darkness
- Dr. Kondraki (don't ask)
- needles
- wild dogs, diamond or otherwise
- dragons
- the dentist's office
- squeaky doors
- caves
- zombies
- bears
- zombie bears and bear zombies (There's a difference!)
- any sentence beginning with "so here's the bad news"
- anypony identifying themselves as "the chief defenestrator" (don't ask)
- bats, fruit or otherwise
Backstory: Beta Ray was born in Canterlot shortly followed by his younger brother Alpha (Don't ask me why Beta came first. That's just how things worked out).

After graduating from Canterlot High with strait A's in every class aside from art and gym (especially gym), he was easily accepted into Canterlot University to major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. He graduated at age 21 (due to skipping his freshman year of college because of advanced placement classes in highschool).

Four years of grad school and nearly three years of hoofs on study and writing later, he earned his PhD in Bioengineering at the age of 29.

He became relatively well known in his field for his work in biomedical research. One unfortunately failed project was his experimental development of "the cat with two heads" (you can pet one kitty's head, and then you can pet the other kitty's head!), which he has publicly stated that he will never attempt again. Ever.
