Appearance: Driftwood appears as a sandy brown Pegasus with medium sized wings. He has a quill grey, unkempt mane which is fairly long for a stallion, and a similar yet shorter tail.
Cutie Mark: His cutie mark is a piece of driftwood, representing his drifting, traveler nature.
Personality: Driftwood is a stoic Pegasus pony, hard to please, and even harder to frighten. He rarely smiles, but is not a depressed pony, he just believes that showing emotion is a weakness. His tenacity drives him ever forward in the search for his past.
Backstory: Driftwood is an amnesiac, his earliest memory was awaking on a beach, nameless and without a destiny. He seemed to be of the age of 5 or 6 when he drifted ashore, and was adopted by an old, widowed seashell collector living on the beachfront who found him as a young colt shivering and starving on the beach. The young stallion was diagnosed with pneumonia and was nursed back to health by the kindly mare.

Driftwood acted hostile to anypony who approached him, with the exception of the old widow until the age of 9 when he stopped talking to ponies. At the age of 10, he ran away from the widow's home and ended up in a different town. He traveled for a year, drifting in and out of towns, earning bits in each by doing odd jobs for ponies.

He returned to the widow's home at the age of 11, only to find that she had died on a search and rescue mission to find the little sandy colt a year ago. Devastated and heartbroken, the pony shut himself in the old mare's house for 6 months, leaving only to gather seaweed from the beach. In memory of his caretaker, Driftwood made a band from some of the old mare's shells and wears it around his left hoof.

The stallion still drifts from town to town, near the sea's edge. He returns to the widow's house now and then to keep it orderly, but Driftwood's heart and soul ache for an adventure through and beyond the plains of Equestria, ever seeking answers to his mountain of questions about himself and the world around him.
