Personality: Silent and solemn.

When set on a destination, Eclipse rarely spares a passing glance; and "frees" ponies whenever he pleases.

Before executing large-scale operations, he quietly laments the light that spurs others on.

Believing that all light fades, Eclipse is determined to prevent it from ever spreading. To destroy the false faith that plagues Equestria.
Backstory: Sighted in the Frozen North, a passing train conductor stopped to save him from the storm.

Upon boarding the train they rushed to take his vitals, which came back impossibly normal.

Startled by the readings, but happy for his health, they told Eclipse how lucky he was, and to rest until they reached the Empire.

As the train whirred back to life, the passenger next to Eclipse made herself known. Reassuring him how different it would be in the Empire. Warm weather year-round, unique magic and spells, AND the upcoming Crystal Fair.

"Yessir! It brings together everything about the Empire. You really are a lucky one," she exclaimed.

A small smile surfaced on Eclipse. "You know, I've always wanted to attend".

"Well, what kept you?" she teased.

As the train rolled into the Empire, Eclipse simply answered, "This shield".

As the train came to a stop, only one pony could be seen leaving the station. And he had only one target. The Crystal Heart.

Making his way towards the shrine, several ponies stopped to welcome him - offering all varieties of goods and treats.

"No thank you," Eclipse calmly replied. "But perhaps I have something to offer you".

In the next moment, their crystal coats faded to the dullest shades, and their upbeat spirit sealed away.

*to be continued*
