Cutie Mark: Elixir's stripes changed to create his cutie mark after he met Zecora and discovered the way she used magic. It is a potion vial, to represent his talent for zebra magic.

Personality: Elixir has a positive take on life and a love of adventure. It takes a lot to phase or spook him, despite his blindness. It is his personal aim not to let his blindness ruin his life, and to live life to the full like any other equine.<br />He has a connection to nature and Earth, like Zecora taught him to have. He is very alert and aware of the ground beneath his feet, which is possibly the reason he has never tripped up on a tree root. He also has a very good sense of time and direction.<br />He is an ambivert, friendly but content on his own as well. When in the company of others he tends to listen to what they have to say rather than leading the conversation - but doesn't have a problem with speaking himself.<br />He is quite articulate, is good with practical projects, and very good with the three sciences (one has to be when working with the likes of potions).

Backstory: Elixir is a blonde zebra, slightly younger than the Mane 6, who resides in a large hollow tree in the Everfree Forest. His line of work is similar to Zecora's, as she is the only other zebra he knows, and she took occasionally visits and teaches him as though he's her apprentice.<br />When he was born, his family was kicked out of his herd. He was born blind, possibly as a result of his father's poor health, and his family was made up entirely of blonde zebras, so the others felt these factors together were an omen.<br />His wise old grandma died of a combination of old age and malnourishment within the first few days of their banishment. As his father's abilities were hindered by his poor health, they only had his mother to defend them. But they wandered so far away from home, they found themselves in the strange and unfamiliar Everfree Forest, and did not know of the creatures that resided there. Elixir's mother put up a good fight, but could not have calculated the speed and strength of the Timber Wolves. Elixir was able to escape due to his small size - but both his parents died.<br />He was old enough to care for himself at this point, but wandered the strange forest calling for help. Zecora heard and took him in for a while, before helping him create his own home to live in and showing him the potions and magic that she created. He was fascinated, and started practising himself. <br />As a gift, when he left Zecora's home, he was given the crude protection amulet he has always worn since, which was made from the twigs that made up the wolves that killed his parents. It wards off demons and evil spirits, which, luckily, he has never encountered so far.
