• Epiphany

    sunne

    • Age: Varies between RPs. Typically about 16-22

      Gender: Female

      Species: Unicorn

Appearance: Epi has a creamy yellow coat with a long, dull brown mane that covers part of her face and hangs low over her bright teal eyes. Her right eye appears to be blind, but she does have vision in it. It is damaged.
Her mane falls to cover up her damaged eye. Not to appear fully able per se, but she doesn't use it as much as her good eye.

Cutie Mark: A red cross with what seems to be a white magic aura around it.
it symbolizes her natural talent for healing magic and her willingness to help anypony who is hurt.

Story is a part of backstory

Personality: Epiphany is very calm and seems to be emotionless, but that's just not so. She does indeed have emotions, but has become an expert at not showing them since fillyhood. She's afraid of upsetting somepony, so she doesn't voice her opinion much.
Her attitude can be perceived as cold and antisocial, but in truth she just... doesn't care for social interaction. She will interact with others, but doesn't care enough to be friendly.
She despises violence and violent ponies, and is terrified of all kinds of weaponry.
She rarely smiles. She's very mature and serious most of the time, and she'll never hesitate to help a pony in need.
She is also very intelligent.

Backstory: She was one of those gullible fillies who fell for any and all parental scare tactics and took every warning seriously. She always made sure to never let herself get kidnapped or lost, always did whatever her parents told her, always tried to be on perfect behaviour. She shied away from any pony who seemed to be angry, and learned to hold her tongue to avoid somepony getting mad at her.
Still, despite being afraid and wary most of the time, she grew up fairly happily. Not many bullies, close with her family. All up until her parents' second honeymoon.
When she was about 9, her parents decided to go on the aforementioned second honeymoon. They left her with one of her dad's work buddies.
Unfortunately, her father wasn't close enough to this buddy to know he had a drinking problem. Nor did he know that he was an angry drunk. Most nights, he would yell at her, maybe throw in a punch or two but after about a week, he came home one night and beat on her, incredibly drunk. After he left the room, she grabbed a couple of belongings, and ran away.
She ran as far as she could, through a few towns and fields. She continued running until she couldn't any longer, and her legs gave out near an incredibly small village. Later that morning, an old mare found her unconscious, and took her in.
Epiphany was far too afraid to return home, so the old mare allowed her to stay with her. Her verbal and physical beatings had her now terrified of other ponies, even the old mare to some extent, and she refused to leave the mare's house. Knowing that the little filly wouldn't leave even for education, she patiently started homeschooling the young Epiphany and caring for her like a mother.
As Epiphany grew up with the mare, she became less terrified of ponies but stayed a social recluse. She didn't go out often, only for errands for the mare. She rarely spoke to any pony.
One day, she was on an errand for the old mare, and the streets were crowded, so she took a back alley to get to where she was going. In the back alley, she witnessed a beating. A young mare was getting beat up by a slightly older stallion. Normally, if somepony showed anger, Epiphany would shy away, but this time, she felt hatred bubble up. She went and stopped the beating, choosing not to let that hatred show, instead using it as confidence. The stallion backed off, but the mare had passed out.
She wasn't in good shape. Epiphany wasn't sure what to do or what might happen to the mare. She was bleeding badly. Epiphany didn't know much magic, but she gathered as much of her magic as she could and focused it at the mare, trying to heal her. It helped somewhat, and when they were found in the alley by ponies from the hospital, Epiphany had a cutie mark on her flank.
As she grew up with the old mare, she continued to try to find beatings and fights and help the victims.
