Appearance: I don't really know how to show it on a pony, but Fantasy Moon has a slightly more athletic build than most other unicorn mares. And under her long bangs is a thin scar, barely missing her hidden eye.
Cutie Mark: It's a white writing utensil drawing a blue butterfly. She's an artist who can bring her art to "life" so to speak.
Personality: Fantasy Moon is an overall kind and honest mare who is well-read in world, Equestrian, and art history. She's perfectly willing to let a friend in need stay at her place for a cup of coffee and a chance to share a laugh or cry with no fear of judgement. However, she isn't the best conversationalist, as she says little when she's in a normal mood, preferring show over tell.

One of the few times she says more than a few words is when she is telling one of her stories or doing a historical retelling. Other times, it's because she's in a high emotional state. It can either be a funny or heartwarming thing to see, or a sign that something is very wrong. Doesn't help that she can be shy. However, her job involving lots of stages and attention, she doesn't suffer from stage fright.

She is by no means naive, but she's an idealist with a strong moral code which, at her worst, makes her see the world in black and white. She's of the belief that one always has a chance to change for the better, though she also believes it's best to listen to many but talk to few. Due to that, it'll take a little while before she truly considers one a friend.
Backstory: (Note: Should an RP call for it, I can alter this so that it fits better. Also not entirely happy with this backstory, so I might be changing it around)

For the most part, she lived a decent life. She was born in Ponyville to an earth pony mother (specialized in foreign dishes) and a unicorn father (travelled to provide healing magic to folks everywhere). Her family was sweet and worldly for the most part, though her mom had a tendency to be childish and overbearing and her father wouldn't be present at home for weeks, sometimes even a whole month or more.

Sometimes though, her father would bring her along for the trip. At first it was only to places in Equestria like Manehatten and Canterlot, but then he brought her to lands outside of the country. In fact, when they came to a zebra village, that was where she got her cutie mark. One of the shamans used a great bonfire to create smoke images depicting warriors, hunters, creatures she never knew even existed, etc. all weaved together in a series of tales. It inspired her to not only tell stories herself, but also to give them life, just like what the shaman did.

She tried to pull it off with fire, but it quickly proved too dangerous, especially after burning herself and requiring her father to heal her twice. She attempted water, but it was even more of a failure than fire was. When she was close to giving up, she decided to see if she could use her rough-draft of a spell to bring drawings to life. At the time, her art skills were limited to only stick figures, so she wasn't confident it was going to work. Lo and behold, with some difficulty, it actually worked! When she managed to tell a short tale with her newfound ability, her cutie mark appeared - a writing utensil drawing a butterfly.

Of course she attracted attention from her peers when she came home with that new cutie mark, but a few less-than-kind ponies would never let her live down the fact that she got her cutie mark very late into her teens, one of the last in their class in fact.

When she was able to start off her own life, she moved to Baltimare and made a living off of weaving stories with her art and magic. She's sometimes hired to entertain at various parties with her stories and art. Other times, she was paid to do a historical retelling at museums. Whenever she has time off, she likes to travel or visit her parents back in Ponyville.
