Cutie Mark: When a filly Flare was was cooking, she accidentally grabbed the steaming hot tray with her mouth. Much to the horror of her mother. It was when Flare did not react, that her mother realised that the device really had worked. She gained a cutie mark of an ember, showing that her unique talent was resistance to severe temperatures.
Personality: Due to a young life of getting everything she wanted, Flare can be a bit greedy at times, sometimes asking for more than she needs. She is also shy, as she spent most of her young life in her parents mansion entertaining herself, and she never had any siblings.
Backstory: Flare was brought up by an eccentric business family in the busy city of Manehatten. Her parents were very wealthy, and she did not see much of them. As a result she never got out much of her parents mansion, and she was pampered by servants and butlers. It was one day, when her parents being the curious pioneering scientists that they were, brought home their experimental device. Her parents were scientists, who used logic as well as magic to construct inventions. This particular invention was designed to grant the user immunity from heat, fire and severe temperatures. They hoped that the invention would grant ponies who had to experience heat to its extremities the ability to do so without being injured. Such as firefighting ponies, or even bakers. Unfortunately the one of a kind, experimental device was stumbled upon by a curious Flare, who accidentally powered it up. The device proceeded to subject Flare to magic and highly experimental chemicals.

Her parents found Flare with the device the next morning, exhausted, and confused, having no recollection as to what had happened. The device had been unstable and had destroyed itself in the process of its job. Her parents, declared that the device was a failure and stopped all work relating to it.

When Flare was cooking, she accidentally grabbed the steaming hot tray with her mouth.
