Appearance: Baryon has a grey coat with a lavender mane and tail that is curved and pointed, but short. His eyes are an emerald green, and Baryon is nearsighted, requiring glasses. As a stallion, Baryon isn't very athletic or buff in both his body and wings due to long-term Stable confinement.

Baryon wears his regular Stable 16 barding, though it is longer than usual to accommodate the holes for the wings to go through, and the collar stripes are white instead of yellow.
Cutie Mark: A syringe (bearing close similarity to a Stimpak) with a green drop on the needle, symbolizing his talent with medicine.
Personality: Baryon was the only pegasi in his current family and possibly the entire Stable, and is therefore influenced by his unicorn-dominating family. His flight skills are not as agile as the regular pegasus due to living the majority of his life in an underground Stable.

Baryon's motivation as a medical doctor is simple: he wants to help ponies and save lives. Each time he helps a pony that is nearly out of life, he finds the courage and strength to continue on. If he could help one pony from leaving the earth, Baryon would be content with that.

Baryon is a socialite from youth, having no problem with getting ponies to cope and negotiate with him. He tends to jump into conversations with his patients in the Stable (probably distant relatives). Baryon can be conceited and confident with his work, and often stays in the Stable clinic (even sleeping there in some cases).

Baryon also has an unusual friendly relationship with his Auto-Doc MK IV machine; he carries an artificial intelligence drive of her personality with him.
Backstory: Growing up in the fairly safe Stable 16, Baryon did not quite experience the suffering of others in his early foalhood. His time as a colt was in the Stable was filled of games, childish laughter, and trading books to read. Despite being a pegasus in the unicorn-earth pony dominated Stable, nopony seemed to mind him.

One day, Baryon was playing with a fellow unicorn in the Stable until the unicorn crashed into the atrium railing, landing hard with a damaged hoof and breaking his nose. Baryon tried to stop the bleeding and fixed up the unicorn with an emergency aid kit, until he noticed the change of his flank.

Some ponies in the Stable did not find it surprising that Baryon had a talent with medicine, was taken to the Medical Clinic section to work with his mother, and Baryon was perfectly content with this. He loved the satisfaction of bring life back into ponies. Not long after this, Baryon got a PipBuck for his tenth birthday, a "rite of passage" for most stable colts and fillies.

The Stable 16 experiment was that the Stable had a finite amount of electricity; when the Stable used up its yearly supply, however, it began "eating up" the food and water supply. While this has been used to compensate for the electricity keeping the Stable up and running, all their supplies were being used up faster than when they came in. This problem came fifteen years later, and the Stable decided to send Baryon out, believing that the surface was safe (they were given the "positive" to open the Stable door more than two decades before, though they refused to). Baryon was sent to find supplies in the Wasteland within a few months in an attempt to save their Stable.

Of course, Baryon didn't know what he was up against.
