(Foe) Anatol
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Species: Non-Pony
Appearance: A Unicorn-Zebra hybrid, his fur is charcoal with white stripes. His eyes are mix between Hope's blue eyes and Zecora's Aquamarine eyes.
Cutie Mark: An African symbol for Wisdom, the ‘Mate Masie’.
Personality: Anatol is overly cautious and yet shows signs of battle-hardening and he tests his limits every day. One thing he seems to have inherited from his sire was being able to put up a decent facade, either to hide his own feelings or to get on the good sides of others. He appears to know little of the Wasteland, yet much of the pre-war era.
When in combat, he will often try to disable or stun his enemies before resorting to killing them, unless he feels he has no choice. He tries to keep up a firm exterior, but occasionally that cracks and reveals the uncertainty and melancholy that he is feeling.
He is a bit of a loner and finds it hard to trust most people he comes across(thanks to an encounter with raiders not long after his awakening). He is very forlorn, much like his father, but always manages to push on anyway, afraid only of what may happen to those he trusts if he decided to just lay down and die.
Backstory: The son of the Aerian unicorn, Hope and the zebra shaman, Zecora. He was born many years before the Great War began. It started when news of the Wonderbolt Massacre reached Hope and Zecora, and the three heard rumors of a possible war whenever they entered Ponyville to pick up foodstuffs, ingredients for potions and other supplies. It was there too that young Anatol first saw what was then a new invention - the gun and its destructive potential, suddenly the rumors seemed all too real.
It was a year later when the first energy crisis hit, especially with all of the controversy surrounding the Hippocampus Energy Plant #12. Zecora especially was against its installation, but there was little she could do. It was also that year when Princess Celestia promised to meet with the Zebras to resolve the strain on their relations.
Not long after, the Great War had begun, Hope had just turned nineteen at the time and he already felt uncertain about the coming events. Then came the Littlehorn Massacre, in which all of the students in Princess Luna’s academy were killed after a Zebra bombing, news of this further weighed down the hearts of Anatol and his parents. What was to come next? Why were the Zebras doing this? Would we be in danger? These were the questions going through the hybrid pony’s head.
What came next was the news that Celestia abdicated the throne and Luna taking her place as Princess. And with that the six ministries were formed, each by one member of the six ponies that had saved Equestria on many occasions. The Ministry of Peace, specifically, soon created the first Megaspell, it was meant to be used to quickly heal the wounded and did so in a battle that, from what Anatol had heard, was near Stalliongrad.
Then came Shattered Hood Ridge, Princess Luna and Big Macintosh of the Apple family led a group of other ponies to attend peace talks but Hope, Zecora and Anatol couldn’t help but feel something else was the case and it neither knew for sure until news came that Big Macintosh was dead as well as several others. His funeral was a week later, Anatol and his family attended the service. Anatol had known Big Mac fairly well before the war and he futilely tried to hold back his tears. He wasn’t alone in this, all of Equestria mourned Big Macintosh.
This was it, it was clear that their situation would not improve. In an effort to keep him safe. Hope and Zecora took Anatol to Stable 87 and placed him in suspended animation, in hopes that he would awaken in a time where there was no war and only peace. Afterwards, Zecora soon began working for the Ministry Of Awesome as a double agent, while Hope worked for the Ministry of Peace. After Zecora’s death, Hope aggressively opposed the war and was later branded a traitor for sharing secrets with the zebras (in reality, his relationship with Zecora). Meanwhile, in his comatose state, Anatol's body never aged as the years flew by.

When Anatol finally was released from suspended animation and awakened. Stable 87 had seen better days, it was now run down, the walls showing much rust.

Once he was able to stand up again, Anatol began exploring and found that he was not alone, a band of raiders were looting the place and after a long and hard scuffle, Anatol managed to swipe one of their hunting rifles and looking away, made his first kill. “I had to do it. He would have killed me” The hybrid repeated, wanting to vomit and his legs nearly giving out. Deciding to take the rifle, which he called ‘Krav̱g Dáda’(Screaming Torch). With some searching he found a travel pack and a fair amount of stimpacks that had not been taken by the raiders, and looted a survival outfit from one of the raiders’ corpses, which looked similar to a guard’s armor.
More searching and Anatol finally found his way out of the Stable, noting the ominous presence of pony skeletons just outside the door of the Stable, walking through the dark, earthly tunnel, the hybrid could see light streaming in from the entrance as he got closer. What he saw when he exited the underground tunnel nearly made his heart cease to beat. Equestria had become a wasteland, with only ruins to remind him of what once was. What happened here? Are mother and father alright? Is the war over? These questions firmly in his mind, Anatol headed out into the Equestrian Wasteland, unsure where his search will take him.
