Appearance: Garnet is an earth pony with a color pallet that is mostly made of warm colors (except for her eyes/cutie mark). <br /><br />Her eye shape is similar to Maud's, with only one eye shine, like Trixie. She has eyeshadow that is the same color of her mane. Her mane highlights aren't natural.<br /><br />Garnet has one accessory, and that's a garnet necklace that she made as a filly. She never takes it off, because it's a very important part of her. <br /><br />She is as tall as Twilight and has an average mare body shape. Her voice usually has an annoyed tone and is slightly low pitched.

Cutie Mark: Her cutie mark is a single green emerald. It represents her jewelry making special talent, as well as her mystical connection with gemstones.

Personality: Garnet is a pony that is pretty hard to understand. She doesn't like leaving her home, and she doesn't care for social interaction. If you meet her, you'll never see her true face until she completely trusts you. She's usually very sarcastic and cold towards ponies she doesn't know, and that makes it difficult for her to function in the almost utopian equestrian society. She's a very insecure and pessimitic pony, and that's why she hides under her annoyed expression. She's only happy when she's working alone on jewelry making, and that's when she can be her creative, almost childlike self.<br /><br />She's very blunt and down to earth, and can't live without having a goal to achieve. <br />Her astrological sign is Capricorn, her birthday is January 20th, her birthstone is Ruby and her birth flower is Carnation.<br />Her favorite color is red, and she's very interested in the magical properties of gemstones. <br /><br />She likes jewels, fashion, makeup, being alone, magic, astrology.<br />She dislikes parties, her family, annoying ponies, boredom, bad jokes/puns.<br />She fears failure, nightmares, being made fun of. <br /><br />She's currently single and is self-employed as a jewelry maker. She lives in Ponyville, near the Everfree Forest. Her only friend is Opal (she doesn't admit it). She doesn't have any pets.

Backstory: Garnet was born in Dodge Junction. She was always fascinated by gemstones and their magical properties, but other fillies bullied for being an earth pony interested in magic.<br />Her family is dysfunctional, since they never cared for her as much their other younger daughter which is a very talented pianist. <br />She learned the hard way that she shouldn't care about others opinions, and ran off home. That's when she stumbled across a beautiful garnet in the Rambling Rock Ridge, and saw herself as that gem, a solitary, hard as diamond stone that's just waiting for its opportunity to shine. She then made a necklace out of the garnet and that's when she got her cutie mark.<br /><br />After getting her cutie mark, she started to be less sensitive about everything and more quiet, since she figured that she didn't need anypony else besides herself to be happy... or at least she thinks she's happy that way. She got into Ponyville when searching for a place to settle down, and that's when she met Opal, a polar opposite of her. Since she didn't had any other choice, she decided to stay with her after being asked and refusing a lot of times.<br /><br />She still uses her garnet necklace and never talks about her family.
