• Garvan & Rangle

    Widdershins

    • Age: 21

      Gender: Male

      Species: Non-Pony

      Appearance:
Species: Dragon PU character: Parallel Universe (Like Alternate Universe, but in this case the only thing tying him to Equestria is that dragons happen to be a thing there.)

Garvan & Rangle is/are a quadrupedal dragon. Garvan, the left & slightly more dominant head, shares the same long headshape as does his "brother", but instead of the shorter fins he has longer, unconnected spikes, three on each side of his head with the two topmost looking the most like horns. On the inner, front corner of both heads' mouths are scuff & light scarring marks from their constant feuding and attempts to gnaw at the other's head. With their necks just short of two feet, their jaws may not be able reach each other, but their breaths can. While the entirety of the body is a greyish blue, Garvan's face, head, neck, front leg and most of his skin back to his haunch is a beaten, shiny blue due to the polishing of Rangle's pebblebreath.

Rangle's head is adorned with the same set of head spikes, but stubbier and finned. In contrast with the other side of their body, Rangle's face, head, neck, front leg and most of his skin back to his haunch is scorched light grey with most of the blue having leeched out due to Garvan's firebreath.

A row of stubby, blunt spikes runs down the back of both necks, joins between their shoulder-blades where wings would attach (if they had them) and continues running down to the tip of their shared tail. What with the notable difference in color of three spots of their body, it gives a stitched-together appearance or that of someone having done an absolutely terrible paint job on a shoddy, bootleg figurine.

In addition, while they do have powerful, long legs, they end in blunt toenail-like claws unsuited for puncturing or fighting. Their chest & belly is plated with long, thick bands and while one can almost see a straight line where the grey & shiny blue meet, towards the belly all three shades mix together into a muddy mottled color. All four eyes are red, but Rangle's are a bit more grey.

      Personality:
Rangle & Garvan spend almost every moment of every day in a constant bickering & shouting match with itself. They do tend to be inconsiderate & oafish to any other being because with one eye useless for almost anything other than constantly staring at their brother's "ugly putz" it is somewhat hard for them to see anything but what angers them, despite the fact that both seem to share more or less the same personality & mind.

The two tend to come off as dumb thugs more than anything else. Like most dragons, they revel in the fact that they are naturally intimidating and will take any opportunity to bully, harass, mug or even threaten to eat any ponies they find. Fortunately though, they are far too incompetent to be anywhere near the threat their size & abilities would lead you to believe. Both heads tend to mirror each other's movements making every lunge they do tend to result in their heads knocking together & with as poorly coordinated as they are it isn't unusual for them to run chest-first into a tree, then promptly spend the rest of the day trying to browbeat the other head into being the one to turn around.

In dragon circles, Garvan & Rangle are basically the Snips & Snails of dragondom. They've been called names like the Twin Terror or the Mirror Mutts, neither of which realize is supposed to be more insult than a compliment. While they can often be found as guards for what few things dragons employ other dragons for, it's a general consensus that if there's an option around that only the most bone-headed individuals with no concern for safety or common sense would do... then its a cinch that these two chowderheads are already trying it.

In spite of how much they constantly complain about it, and while they would jump at the opportunity to be magically separated, they would both feel deeply troubled without having their "brother" by their side to lean on.

      Backstory:
In Nature most polycephaly tends to solve itself. Most wild animals tend to see the second head as a rival for food resources and the stronger head tends to win out. Unfortunately for this draconic example the heads have reached a perpetual stalemate since neither have a neck long enough to bite the other. Ever since birth, Garvan & Rangle have despised their "brother" despite all signs point to them being more or less the same personality. In fact, that might be why they hate themself. Neither are particularly bright and are as thuggish brutes as young dragons tend to be. Selfish & untrustworthy they tend to be gullible incompetents who spend most of every waking moment constantly besting or out-doing the other.
