Personality: Curious about most everything. Loves adventure, and mysteries and magic. Friendly, but introverted. Very observant, extremely imaginative and creative. Daydreams near constantly.

Backstory: Glitter Moon was born and brought up in Hollow Shades, a town that tends to be darker than most. Daytime is usually shrouded by clouds.. it never gets too bright there. Because of this darkness, the ponies in Hollow Shades are closer followers of Princess Luna than Princess Celestia, until she became Nightmare Moon. <br /><br />Glitter's from a prestigious line of ponies (though since Hollow Shades is a very secretive area, they're only well known in the land they live in and in Dragon Country) who maintain the Glow Gem Garden. Glow gems are a magical type of glowing gem that comes in every color imaginable. Different gems have different qualities they share with the holder of the gem. These gems are often traded to the dragons, and in return have brought prosperity to the family and to Hollow Shades. <br /><br />Glitter is the only one in her immediate family with wings.. her mother, father and siblings are all unicorns. <br /><br />Glitter takes after her aunt, Azure Eclipse, who was a pegasus. Azure was the traveler who would deliver glow gems to locations throughout Equestria, and she brought her family much pride... until the day when the family discovered her secret... <br /><br />Azure was collecting secrets and magic from around Equestria. She was gathering information about Nightmare Moon as well, learning about her power. She knew the prophecy of Nightmare Moon's return, and was attempting to recreate the elements of harmony on her own in order to stop Nightmare Moon if she ever returned. However, her adventures brought an onslaught of dark forces to Hollow Shades, and she wasn't powerful enough to stop them. <br /><br />The guard of Hollow Shades eventually drove the evil shadows out. However, Emerald Glare, Azure's jealous sister (and Glitter's mother), spread rumors saying how Azure was secretly a follower of Nightmare Moon (who the people of the land felt brought them shame now, since night and shadows were their lifestyle), and she had planned the attack all along. Azure was driven away from Hollow Shades, and has never been allowed to return. <br /><br />Glitter Moon takes after Azure, and is currently the only pegasus in the family. Her parents find this to be shameful, since they despise Azure Eclipse so. The ponies of Hollow Shades are skeptical of Glitter, going as far as to cast a spell on her that causes her to never gain a cutie mark, fearing if she found her true calling, she'd use it to work with Nightmare Moon. <br /><br />Now that Nightmare Moon has become Princess Luna again, the townspeople accept Glitter a little more than they did... however, the spell is irreversible, and Glitter cannot have a cutie mark as long as she lives. <br /><br />Azure's story is now controversial, with some ponies believing she was evil, and some believing that she was good. However, her parents Emerald Glare and Crimson Ruby still consider her evil, and do their best to hide Glitter because they are ashamed of her (and Emerald is secretly jealous). <br /><br />Glitter Moon spends most of her time tending to the Glow Gem Gardens, and playing with her Luminouse, Glisten. She has many interests, but has never found her true calling due to the spell. She wants to find Azure again, because she believes that perhaps with her vast knowledge of mysterious and powerful spells, she might be able to reverse the spell. <br /><br />Now Glitter only has to become brave enough to leave Hollow Shades and start her adventure.
