Gender: Male

      Species: Earth Pony

      Appearance: ty rara for art

Cutie Mark: A treasure chest, representing his love of exploration and discovery.

Personality: Goldseek aspires to be as great an explorer as his father was. He is brave, facing almost any challenge. He is also very stubborn, believing that his way is always the correct way. He tends to have mental breakdowns, remembering the day when his father was lost. His curiosity is his most defining nature, and he is always willing to risk his life to discover something new.

Backstory: The waves rocked the boat, pushing it to and fro, tilting it madly. A storm was brewing.

Goldseek was only a young colt at the time. His father had promised to take him on an expedition to an island not far from Horseshoe bay, as Goldseek enjoyed the ocean and its wonders. The expedition was to find a lost treasure, the 'Alicorn Amulet'. Apparently it had been lost for many years, but recent activity had led Celestia to believe it was hidden on this island. She ordered the greatest explorers, current and retired, to start this search party.

The island was beautiful. As they arrived, they were greeted by a wonderful waterfall and very tropical looking palm trees. Goldseek's father ordered him to stay on the boat as they searched, but of course, childish curiosity got the better of him. Finding a cave in the island, Goldseek decided it best he ventured into it. It was pitch black, but still, Goldseek kept walking. Eventually, he noticed a faint glow deeper in the cave. Running towards it, he found his prize. The Alicorn Amulet, sat inside of a small crystal box. The box was held close with a cutlass, which was littered with strange markings. The colt wrapped his hoof around the cutlass and pulled it out of the box, before being blinded by a magical light.

The cave lit up, and Goldseek did what was natural. Take the box and run. He heard voices, like something trying to call out to him, but tried to block them out. He burst out of the cave, and it collapsed behind him. The sky was not the clear blue skies it had been earlier that day, but a terrible tempest had broken out. He ran to the ship, where the expedition was preparing to leave before the storm got any worst. He showed the box to his father immediately. He opened the box and took out the reward of the journey. The Alicorn Amulet. It was placed in an empty room and locked away, then the ship set off again.

The ride back was rough, and scared Goldseek quite a lot. He was in the cabin, trying to get to sleep as his father tried to help on deck. He had a feeling that something bad was going to happen, but he didn't know what. Then the voices from earlier came back. 'Help your father' they told him. He decided it best he listened to them, as he was planning on helping anyway. However, he came up at the worst time, as he watched in horror as his father was thrown off of the deck into the ocean. He tried to jump in after him, but was stopped by another pony, telling him to get back to safety in the cabin. The feeling was horrible. He couldn't do anything to help his father. He eventually got to sleep with a sick feeling in his stomach.

He awoke in Canterlot, in his father's home. Celestia was there, studying the amulet closely. She looked up and saw that Goldseek had awoken him, and greeted him with a forced smile. She promised him that his father was alive and well, but her voice was faulty. When Goldseek asked to see him, Celestia simply declined, and then left the room. It wasn't fair. It was his father. He should be able to see him. He thought of consulting the voices he heard earlier, but they were gone. Beside his bed was the cutlass he had found earlier. He inspected the carvings in the blade. They retold the story of the an alicorn who went mad with power, and thus had their power stripped from them. He grabbed the sword and left, promising that he would find his father, before disappearing from Canterlot.

These events changed Goldseek's life forever.
