Personality: Harmonic Melody is a high-maintenance mare. She's always got something on her mind, and is always worrying. However, she does not like to show this to others. She is very stuck in her ways, though can deal with others' opinions and thoughts pretty fairly. Due to her luxurious upbringing, she does tend to have a bit of a "I'm better than you" type attitude, even if she herself does not like it.<br /><br />That side of her is usually kept to herself. The side that she does show others? She's caring and sweet, despite being a bit stubborn and hard to convince. She has made many friends over the course of her life, and is always looking for more and to have a good time. When she's not strumming on her guitar or listening to some music, she's out living it up. Cafes, at the beach, visiting museums, meeting with Canterlot's elite, et cetera. While some of her friends see her a bit too high-maintenance and above everything, they all consider her close and an invaluable member of their group.

Backstory: Harmonic Melody's life was pretty ordinary. She was born and raised in Canterlot by a family of wealthy unicorns who had made their fortune off of banking. She grew up in a very luxurious and pampered environment, usually getting whatever she wanted at a moment's notice. This is how she first picked up piano, which would eventually turn into a multitude of instruments including guitar, lyre, clarinet, percussion (somehow), and singing.<br /><br />Her cutie mark came a bit later than most mares her age. Once it appeared, much to her parent's discontent, she knew that her future was music. Melody's parents had wanted to continue this family tradition, but Melody refused and ran off to the Musical Institute in Canterlot once old enough. It was there that she perfected her talents and became the musician she is today. When she returned after college, her parents were more than a bit upset and cast her away. From there, she slowly earned a reputation as a musician and performer, but still hasn't struck it big yet. Most of her time now is spent hanging out with friends and performing at small-time gigs such as parties and weddings. While not quite living in the comfort and luxury of her fillyhood, she's happy where she is now and has enough to live comfortably.
