Appearance: Hibiscus shares the stature of most ponies around her age, like the Mane 6. Her body's form is pretty much the same as theirs, despite the fact she is younger. If anything, she's taller than them.
She is a basic white earth pony, with pale freckles and is often seen blushing, which is more because she's pumped than shy. She sometimes has either vibrant pink or orange eyeshadow on, not because she's a fashionista but because she has unremarkable colouring without this.
Her mane and tail are both a chocolate brown.
Her eyes are a bright sea-blue and stand out amidst her other natural colours. The way they sparkle and dance with humor is a defining feature.
Cutie Mark: Hibiscus Bloom's cutie mark is a stylised pink and orange Hibiscus flower, beneath a Hawaiian-style coconut-half cup with a straw that matches her blue eyes. It represents her talent at concocting tropical drinks; smoothies, juices, anything really.
Personality: Hibiscus Bloom is a happy-go-lucky, intelligent pony. She's more than happy on her own, humming a melody to herself and dancing to the tune - but the more the merrier! She is very outgoing and loves listening to the stories she is told by visitors to her beach shack, but also keeps a circle of close friends to whom she is very attached.
Other than that, she shares the personalities of Pinkie and Twilight. She's less random than Pinkie, but has boundless energy just the same. She's able to lighten the mood of any situation with one witty remark.
Backstory: Hibiscus was born in Haywaii and lived there for several memorable years. She mainly remembers what it was like at boarding school; her parents had both realised that there was no better educational opportunity around, as all the other schools in the area were lacking somewhat: therefore, her (slightly!) older brother had also been sent there. Her younger sister would later be sent there as well. Her mother was the owner of a colourful beach reasort, and was well-known for her hospitality and fun-loving personality. Her father would regularly help out there - but otherwise he brought in no money, choosing to volunteer as a lifeguard (as you might imagine, owning a successful beach resort brings in plenty of money on its own). The boarding school Hibi attended was very happy to let the ponies spend as much time as possible with their family, so she never really missed out. She was very happy in the boarding school too, as she was treated as though she had a second family there. She spent many happy nights up with her friends in eachother's dorms. They were all raised on good morals, it's no wonder she turned out such a happy pony.
She was trotting around town once, taking a little time out for her brother. There was a carnival there once, and she realised she adored the taste sensations she got when she tried the food and drinks, and knew just what could improve them. As soon as she got to the Home, she raced to the kitchen and whipped up a delicious milkshake. As she wiped away a splodge of it, her cutie mark was revealed!
She now lives in Ponyville and runs a popular beach shack selling cold beverages (such as milkshakes and smoothies) during the summer. Her shack is located on the surprisingly beautiful Eastern coasts of Equestria - Horseshoe Bay in particular - which is reminiscent of the beaches of Haywaii; it has white sand, palm trees and crystal clear water as far as the eye can see.
