Cutie Mark: Cutie mark is a golden leaf, much akin to those adorned upon Greek royalty. He doesn't even know what it means, let alone care much about it. He doesn't have much of a particular talent, and he's fine being the "Average Joe."
Personality: Icarus is a largely unaspiring and unmotivated guy. He prefers to just let things happen as they happen and not really be a part of anything. He really tries to be nothing particularly important or special. He's the kind of stallion who'll do as little work as possible, not necessarily because he doesn't want to, but because he knows someone is better than him at it and he's okay with that. He lives in the moment and doesn't care for the consequences or effects of his actions.

Icarus is a somewhat quiet and reserved guy, but can get fierce when the situation calls for it. He's more of a listener than a talker, and a follower than a leader. Icarus is, as he likes to call it, selectively social in the way that he can be social and outgoing, though only to those that he wants to be. On the fringes of being not necessarily socially awkward but not necessarily social skilled, he prefers to lead a more submissive role. He generally doesn't speak unless spoken to. Once you get to know him, he can be surprisingly playful and bashful, though it takes alot to reach this side of him. Same applies to his cuddly, lovey side which you'll probably never see. Aside from this, he's not particularly opinionated or stuck in his ways. In fact, he likes being proven wrong and shown new things simply because he knows that most of his opinions and thoughts aren't really too well thought-out and elaborate. Icarus is pessimistic by nature, but makes the most of what he's got.

As a pony, Icarus is loyal and trustworthy, though he can be easily tempted to possibly break some of these qualities by concrete and short-term gratification. He's quick to trust but also quick to judge. His judgements can and will change fairly quickly, however. Despite this, he cares deeply about his friends and will do near anything to help them (even if it requires the dreaded "W" word: work). He really doesn't care about much except having a good time and lazing about, and his friends and those around him realize and like this. He also lets it be known that he shouldn't be taken too seriously.
Backstory: Icarus was born in the city of Manehatten to an earth pony father and a unicorn mother. After the initial shock of having a peagsus child, they happily accepted him as their colt. However, they could not decide on a name. This changed when Icarus discovered his wings. After about a week of life, he ran across the small Manehatten apartment and took flight. Disobeying his parents pleas to stop flying, his father remembered an ancient pony myth of a pegasus who would not listen to his father (ultimately leading to his doom, but he pushed this thought aside at the time) and named him after this legendary figure: Icarus.

Icarus was born and raised in Manehatten. His childhood, not particularly interesting or stand-out, seemingly flew by and before he even really knew it, he had gotten his cutie mark. He wasn't a particularly fast or athletic flyer (and never would become one). He had been lazily floating around the clouds (like usual) and next time he checked (which most young ponies do very frequently), it was there. He still isn't sure what it means, and probably never will. Throughout his teenage years, he was exposed to some of the less desirable aspects of city pony life. Violence, drugs, fighting, all of that. He stayed above this (both figuratively and literally) and had a few good friends. He never went to college or got a real education, much preferring to laze his way through things.

Now, being all grown up and out for himself in the world, Icarus works as a lifeguard at the public pool of Manehatten. He's not in it to be a mare magnet or to get a nice tan; he's in it simply because it's a job where he gets paid to sit there and do nothing in the sun. He lives in an apartment comfortably and spends most of his free time in there alone or with friends. Icarus lives a largely unaspiring and unmotivated life, preferring to just let life come and go as it must. He is doing well enough financially to take occasional vacations and trips all over Equestria with or without his buds. He's nothing at all, and that's all he's ever wanted to be.
