Appearance: A young member of the Royal Guard in his prime. A golden mane, a white coat, and two large, powerful wings: that's Impetus.

Cutie Mark: Impetus' cutie mark is a sword plunged half-way into the cloud, almost up to the hilt. It represents his ability to use clouds and being an agile, young pegasus to his advantage as a Royal Guard.

Personality: Impetus is unrelenting when his fellow Guard members make mistakes, and he takes it hard on himself when he messes up, as well. He moves fast and strikes hard, often lurking in the clouds before lunging out in a dive to strike his opponent. Though he believes magic exists, he claims that it's not the best way to deal with problems. He scoffs at friendship, and laughs at heartwarming stories of Shining Armor and Cadance, saying that the captain of the guard is beyond such silliness. Backstory: Impetus has accomplished almost nothing as a colt, and he got his cutie mark just as he matured and became a full-fledged horse. As an adult pony, he almost immediately became a Royal Guard. His main duty was to deal with tiresome little details such as raiding dragons or pillaging Changelings that the much more powerful princesses couldn't get their hands dirty and come deal with.<br /><br /><br />Relationships with the Mane 6:<br /><br />Twilight Sparkle: Impetus respects and stays away from Shining Armor's sister.<br /><br />Rarity: Impetus laughs at Rarity's magic, just taking it as more proof that he's right about how friendship is weak.<br /><br />Fluttershy: Impetus has no positive or negative feelings towards Fluttershy.<br /><br />Applejack: Impetus secretly has a crush on Applejack, though he's never voiced it.<br /><br />Pinkie Pie: Impetus doesn't care for Pinkie's silliness, but he leaves her to her partying, saying that whatever floats her boat is fine with him.<br /><br />Rainbow Dash: Impetus and Rainbow Dash are good friends, and Impetus has learned several of his tricks from RD. He respects and looks up to Dash.
