Appearance: Is a griffon with an ash colored body, and gold, orange, and crimson colored wing feathers, representing his link with the Phoenix.. when in battle, wears slightly heavy armor of the steel variety, colored ash and crimson. Carries his father's gold, ebony hewn sword and a medium weighted black steel shield. Right eye has been slashed, so it is permanently closed. armor covers thighs, legs, feet, torso, arms, claws and back. Helmet is not usually warn. Wings are on the outside of armor.

Personality: Calmed and reserved, he strategizes and takes into account his opponent's strength and weaknesses. He can hold his ground and quickly slash through multiple opponents, though his armor keeps him from going at his true speed. Never serious unless fighting. Loves to be social and make new friends. He is very protective of the friends he makes and will fight to the death to protect them. Surprisingly is humble, since most griffons are prideful.

Backstory: Leader of the Divine Retribution Order, inheritor of the Phoenix lord's blade and powers.<br />___________________________<br /><br />Kazas was born to a loving family. The only son of a militant father, named terminan, and a loving mother, named Lucretia. He is the descendent of the line of Inaro, a family with a long history of military service to the griffon empire, and known for one thing: every generation of this family has wielded the power of ezerepth, a legendary Phoenix lord, trapped within a sacred blade to descendants found to be both excellent fighters, and in possession of strong morals and a good heart. Thus, they are put to the test by the previous generation. Kazas had a relatively cozy childhood until, at the age of 16, civil war had erupted throughout the griffon empire. Barely of age to join the military, and with his father advising against it strongly, he joined the military in order to prove his worth and to bring honor to his family line. To keep him safe and in check, his father managed to get kazas recruited to his garrison, which terminan commanded. He got no special treatment. In fact, one could say that he was pushed harder than others in his training by his father, as he would often have to spar blindfolded and fly with weights attached to his hind legs. When boot camp was finally over, he was an accomished warrior. Of course, this extreme training was his father's plan to make him suitable to inherit the power of the pheonix lord ezerepth. Soon enough, he was deployed along with his entire unit to his first battle. His father had to defend him, as he was afraid to spill blood. However, his innocence was short lived, as a rebel warrior had gotten close. Kazas slew the rebel almost instinctively, and it was not long until he realized what he had done. He felt guilt. This soldier probably had a family. Another one came. Kazas also cut him down. He had to, after all. To survive. When the battle was over, he questioned his father as to why he felt guilt and why this war was being waged. His father answered.<br /><br />The war had been caused due to internal political strife. Emperor Raziak had recently banished a corrupt war council member named Gorven, who had much support within the military and wanted to turn the griffon empire into a war machine and conquer equestria. Raziak would have none of it. Soon enough, Gorven had gathered an army of like minded soldiers who thirsted for blood to overthrow the imperial order. As to the guilt, terminan said ' all life is sacred. That is why you feel guilt when you slew those soldiers. However, my son. You must defend yourself, as sometimes, you won't have a choice.'<br /><br />Seven years had passed since the war had begun. Terminan, as a victor of several battles,was promoted as a commander of the royalist forces and given an entire legion. Kazas was given the rank of a lieutenant for great deeds in battle. The tyrant usurper's forces were pushed back to the griffonic city of feyrien, and terminan was to lead the assualt. Accompanying them was a monster of a Minotaur with a gigantic greatsword, an elder unicorn cryomancer who could cast powerful ice magics, and a pegasi who was very agile with twin daggers. These figures would be very important in kazas's life later on. As a final test, terminan gave kazas his prized ebony sword, hewn with gold, to fight with. Kazas considered it a great honor. The assault on the city of Feyrien was short, with the legion overrunning the rebels. It was with the help of the Minotaur, the unicorn, and the pegasi, that would help kazas reach the antechamber of Gorven. With no where to run, kazas challenged Gorven to a duel. It was a long and arduous duel, with neither kazas, nor Gorven, able to land a blow. Then, as kazas began to tire, his arm suddenly became snaked around by flames eminating from the sword. Gorven was surprised by this and so was kazas. As a surprise, Gorven slashed at kazas's face while he was trying to figure out why fire had appeared to snake his arm, and cut his right eye. In anger, kazas slashed gorven's sword claw clean off. He was about to deliver the finishing blow as Gorven fell to his knees, but spared him instead. Ezerepth, the great pheonix trapped within the sword, called out, as a new successor had been crowned. Due to his capacity to stay his claw and forgive, he was crowned the new knight of the pheonix lord.<br /><br />The emperor had heard of his father's actions as well as his. Welcoming kazas and his father personally into his palace, terminan was given control of the legriac territory, and kazas was given an invitation to the royal guard, a role he eagerly accepted. After some time he became well known for being the knight of the pheonix and his defeat and apprehension of Gorven the tyrant. <br /><br />Eventually, he was asked to become an ambassador to equestria, and has resided there for two years in canterlot. He met up with the Minotaur, the pegasi, and the unicorn from the final assualt on Feyrien, and they all swore an oath to combat any plots against equestria and Leovia the Griffon empire, be it magical or physical. This group became known as the Divine Retribution Order, as all were protected, and empowered, by a powerful entity, each residing in their weapons.
