Cutie Mark: His Cutie Mark, being a heart-shaped padlock, means he can see (not literally) the connections between two ponies. If these connections are strained, then he attempts to ease the burden, sometimes with disastrous results.

Personality: A typically laid back pony, Keypassion is often the voice of reason in a room full of conflict. While not always calm, he is more prone to understatement than hyperbole. Giving into anger sometimes, he generally has enough awareness about it that he will attempt to leave the situation to calm down first, and resorts to forcing others away only as a last resort. Sometimes too nosy, he will try to give advice to ponies who don't even know about their own feelings. Like some pegasi, his head is usually in the clouds (XD couldn't resist) and is easily distracted by his own thoughts.*

Backstory: Having spent most of his life growing up in Canterlot, Keypassion knows Twilight because his mother and father were Celestia's therapist and psychologist respectively. Twilight and he weren't quite friends, but they did enjoy each others' company most of the time. He actually had a crush on her for a time. Hearing her and Cadance talking about what Cadance's Cutie Mark meant, she exclaimed how awesome it was to have a Cutie Mark relating to love.<br /><br />This prompted him to try and understand what love is. After spending weeks in and out of the library, constantly frustrated by lack of progress, he took a walk around Canterlot to clear his head. Finding himself at Donut Joe's, having often gone here with his father on donut runs in the morning, he heard yelling coming from inside. Two earth ponies were yelling at each other. One was a lanky, yellow stallion, and the other was a stout blue mare.<br /><br />Words then popped into his mind. Words that he knew, instinctively, would defuse the situation. While the two ponies had stopped to catch their breath, he asked what was going on. To make a long story short, the mare was mad that the stallion kept blowing her off to work. Keypassion then said the words that had popped into his head when he walked in. "Could he be trying to save up enough money to start a family with you?"<br /><br />With the mare stunned into silence, the stallion simply nodded his head with a surprised look on his face. The two reconciled then thanked him for saving their engagement. Before the two walked off, they noticed he had gotten his Cutie Mark. In the excitement, he rushed home forgetting to ask the two their names.<br /><br /><br /><br />A couple of years after getting his Cutie Mark, he received the news he was going to be an older brother. Since the situation is so common I could hum the tune and you'd be able to sing the words, I'll simply state he learned that familial love is much different than romantic love.<br /><br />Since the house in Canterlot was too small, and Celestia wouldn't need them for a few more years because their contract had ended, they decided to move to a small town. He and Twilight had left on bitter terms when he told her the news. They moved to a small town (not Ponyville, but within a few days walk of it) and lived there until Keypassion reached the age he could move out. And with his parent's contract restored sooner than anticipated because of Luna's redemption and return, his family was moving back to Canterlot.<br /><br />Keypassion, still hurting from how he and Twilight had parted (words foals were not meant to know were said) decides to take this opportunity to head out on his own. With a bag of bits from his parents to help him get started, and a wagon full of his possessions, he starts walking (unknowingly) in the direction of Ponyville.
