Appearance: Keystone is a slender pegasus pony with a long, somewhat unkept purple mane, orange eyes, and a light pink coat. Key's build is fairly slender compared to many stallions, and in some ways borders on androgynous - he is sometimes mistaken for a mare at distance from time to time, which serves as a recurring source of frustration for him.

Cutie Mark: A padlock bordered on either side with two wings, symbolizing his skill with locksmithing and familiarity with mechanical security devices.

Personality: Keystone's personality is, at best, conflicting - he is often extremely reserved and quiet around strangers, while at the same time a bit loud and unrestrained among those that he's familiar with. <br /><br />As a result of his reserved nature around those that he's not already acquainted with Key doesn't have many friends, but when prompted about this maintains consistently that quality matters more than quality.<br /><br />Key is, for the most part a pony who's feathers are difficult to ruffle; he doesn't let much offend him, and doesn't tend to seek conflict; when placed in decidedly uncomfortable or unfamiliar situations however, his fuse can be cut significantly shorter than normal, resulting in occasional bouts of stand offish behavior and passive aggressive undertones. Even in the rare occasions when his temper is lost completely, Key tends to be relatively quick to calm himself and get his head back on straight.<br /><br />

Backstory: Keystone was born in Canterlot to a family of earth ponies. There was some confusion at his birth due to the fact that nopony was quite sure how an earth pony couple could give to a pegasus when there was not a single pegasus in the family. Despite this curious occurence, his parents accepted him. Unfortunately, his extended family did not, and their distance and insinuations are one of the reasons that Keystone became a pony of a somewhat reserved nature.<br /><br />He discovered his cutie mark on one summer day when he was helping his parents in their workshop. Coming from a long line of locksmiths and security specialists, it was only natural. Mercifully, his cutie mark's significance helped to smooth over any doubts that he belonged in the family, but the damage was already done. Keystone was already rough around the edges. The fact that he was now more welcome did nothing to change that.
