Lautrec The Embraced
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Species: Pegasus
Appearance: Lautrec the Embraced's coat is bone white with a blond mane, somewhat sickly thin unicorn with blue eyes that announce and betray the sheer single minded zeal to the one being he has dedicated his life to.

While he often wears a hooded robe that hides most of his body away, two things about his outfit stands out. Around his right hoof is a simple yet eye drawing wedding band. Around the chest of his robe is printed two pink forelegs wrapped around him.

There are holes in his robe that allow his bone white wings to rest comfortably on the outside of the robe if he wishes.
Cutie Mark: Lautrec's cutie mark is often hidden from sight by the robe he almost always wears, but once upon a time it was the picture of a simple clockwork toy solder. Those who see it now however will notice the fresh looking self inflicted scars in the form of party balloons over the top of it.
Personality: Lautrec the Embraced is a seemingly sane and well liked member of the Cult of Laughter. Those who meet him get the impression that he is just a normal pony with loved ones at home he would do anything for and a willingness to treat almost everypony he meets as family.

He doesn't do drugs and is disappointed like a father in his children of those ponies that do, feeling that they are self destructive. He doesn't drink for the same reason. If asked to join in he will deny the invitation while saying that the only high he needs is the love and support of his beloved wife.

What causes those cultists around him from dealing with the 'wet blanket' of the party is that fact that he claims that his wife is the Laughing Mare (Pinkie Pie when they are alone).

He will do anything to make his beloved happy with a conviction and zeal forged from love and love alone that even the most drugged out zealot of the cult would find themselves in awe of.

Lautrec does view those who are apart of the cult to be his family in law. His logic is that since the Cult is the Laughing Mare's children, by rights he took them on as in laws the moment he 'married' her.

Those who insult his beloved wife within hearing distance of Lautrec tend to die very horrible deaths soon after. This is made worse by the fact that Lautrec isn't one to lose his temper, instead favoring to plot out calmly how to set an example.
Backstory: Prior to the formation of the Cult of Laughter, there was no such pony as Lautrec the Embraced. In truth when the war began 'Lautrec' as he would later be known went by a completely different name altogether. Having a talent as a toymaker, the future cult member dedicated a number of years of the war making toys for children in Trottingham.

Apart from the war and hosilities that came about as a result of the Royal sisters Celestia and Luna vanishing, their disappearance didn't really have much of an impact on the day to day life of the young toy maker. He never knew them personally and what happy childhood memories that he had of live under their reign were just that; Memories.

When he turned fifteen, he started to dream about a beautiful pink pony who loved to party who said her name was the Laughing Mare. Every night for years he got to know her more and more and each and every night he fell more and more in love with her.

On the night of his twenty first birthday, he asked his dream mare to marry him, to which she said yes. Since he was going to be her loving husband, she whispered her real name in his ear and winked as she said that only he was allowed to call her by that name.

Touched by the level of trust she had in him and feeling that he wanted to do something to prove his commitment to her in turn, he invited all his family, friends and even the children and their families that he had made toys for all these years to his birthday party.

After the cake was cut, he made sure everypony got a slice of cake before he did before announcing his engagement to a mare he had been seeing for years. With much merriment, everypony but him died to the poison he had used on the cake so that only his beloved wife would know his true name from then on.

Much like his wife used the moniker of 'The Laughing Mare', he also took on the name 'Lautrec the Embraced' as a further sign of his devotion and love for the mare he married.

The local branch of the cult were more then willing to accept Lautrec into their ranks, not just for his sheer conviction and loyalty to the Laughing Mare, but his willingness to not only slaughter so many ponies in her name but at two festive events at once (A birthday party and an engagement party) impressed them.

The night after he officially joined the Cult of Laughter, Lautrec married the most beautiful mare in the world with his friends and family in attendance, happy that he had found true love and he vowed to do everything he could to make her happy for the rest of his life.
