Cutie Mark: A closed eye. It is the visual representation of a blink, or a moment of not paying attention: what she takes advantage of during her shows.
Personality: On stage: When on stage, Lavender is loud and attention seeking, like any other showpony. She acts positive and friendly, all while paying attention to maintain a certain level mysteriousness. While she is most often more set on amazing ponies than making them laugh, she does joke a few times during her shows to help keep ponies interested.

Off stage: Lavender likes to act mature and cool, but at heart she is playful and childish. She is quite a prankster and enjoys confusing others, all while seeming to be a mature and calm mare.
She is not very honest when it comes to her emotions. She likes to hide her true feelings from others, but she sometimes fails at this horribly.
Being a showpony, she is great at reading the mood of a crowd, but is not very skilled in understanding an individual. As a traveler, she never learned to make lasting friendships, but she is able to make superficial bonds with ponies she meets.
While not open or incredibly friendly, she is pretty talkative, and enjoys when ponies pay attention to her. She does like to listen as well, so that she can learn more about the world surrounding her and the ponies she gets to know.
She is a curious thinking pony by nature, and never refuses to learn something new. She does not like memorizing data or trivia, her knowledge is more of the practical kind.
Backstory: Lavender was born in a somewhat wealthy family as the younger of two foals. She had an older brother Swift Second who she admired greatly. They did have their quarrels, and Lavender would never admit how much she cared about her, but they did get along well. The age gap was huge between them, but it did not stop them from spending a lot of time with each other. While she was young, Lavender barely made any friends, since she felt she needed nopony other than her brother.
But a few years after she entered elementary school, her brother left for a prestigious boarding school leaving her all alone.
Her parents were both business ponies covered in heaps of paperwork, so they barely had any time for her. She at first tried to entertain herself. That was how she found magic tricks. They were a great pastime at first, but soon her loneliness took over. She had to socialize.
After a few tries, she realized trick did get ponies attention on her, and in no time she did make a group of friends at her school. But once again, she was left alone when her family moved to another town due to her parents work.
She managed to make friends again, only to have to move once more. This repeated over and over, until she was completely used to it. She did not want lasting relationships with others anymore, all she wanted was ponies to spend time with while she was at one place.
She noticed how ponies were in different places, and she found a new hobby: pony-collecting. In every place she lived at, she strove to get to know as many different ponies as she could, and add them to her mental collection. She lost interest in ponies as friends, and started to look at them as interesting phenomena or unique objects that she was drawn to by her curiosity.
When she turned eighteen, she decided leave her family and become a traveling entertainer to meet more ponies and get to know stranger lands than she ever could imagine.
Now she goes from town to town, from show to show all across Equestria, growing more and more detached from society as her popularity grows among young ponies.
