• Lilith Crow

That One Techpriest You Used To Know

    • Age: 28

      Gender: Female

      Species: Earth Pony

Appearance: Lilith is a dark grey pony with a black mane and purple eyes. She often is wearing a brown cloak, but she often decorates her mane with vines pulled from the Whitetail Woods. She is a small and slender, though strong for her size- she can run fast, jump far and is extremely flexible. She carries a bow and a short sword with her at all times, as well as a backpack filled with various supplies.

Cutie Mark: Lilith's cutie mark is a drawn bow in front of a moon. It symbolizes her familiarity with the night air, as well as her ability to shoot well in the dark.

Personality: Lilith is cold, blunt, and has a personality that's shut tighter than a clam. She does not talk much, preferring to watch as opposed to interact. She is patient and calm in most situations. She also tends to stalk her prey for some time, learning everything she can about it before she strikes it with a well-placed arrow.

If, for some reason, someone can pierce this shell that she has spent years constructing around herself, she is calm, shy and sweet, kind to those around her and prone to tears. She is wracked every evening by horrendous nightmares that never seem to leave her, but, despite her mental trauma, she is an exceptionally honest, diligent, and loyal to those she trusts enough to expose herself.

Backstory: Lilith was born into a small family and raised among the wheat fields that she called home. Having been schooled at home between education, she never really met other ponies aside from other farm ponies that lived close to her. When she was young, she was obsessed with the small band of rangers that were assigned to the nearby forest of the Whitetail Woods to keep them clear of monsters and various other threats that the (although relatively young) consciousness of the woods might manifest against a perceived slight. Her parents encouraged her, getting her several different bows and arrows for her birthday. She would go out, set up bales of hay, and shoot them down in the mornings and evenings, between her farm work and her schooling, eventually earning her cutie mark as she was able to empty an entire quiver into the center rings of a target after she sneaked out to practice in the dead of night.

As she grew older, her obsession with becoming a ranger only grew, so, with a tearful farewell, set off for the local outpost. She was given some odd looks for her size and her shy personality, but she was greeted with open hooves, especially with one of their previous rangers having departed for the Everfree. Lilith lived out her life as a ranger, scrounging the land for food while defending the wood from various calamities and monsters, serving as an apprentice to one of the master rangers. She lived like this for several years, and she was happy.

Until, that is, the Everfree Forest let loose a burst of uncontrolled magic that manifested itself right over her village. With her elders away on a trip for supplies, Lilith was alone, gathering supplies, and was quite surprised to find that the rangers had not returned that evening. She was able to use the skills taught to her to survive a week before, slightly worried but hopeful that this was just another test, she set out for the village. She found ruins, tracks of an unknown beasts, and nothing but evidence that this beast had feasted on the entire village.

Now she lives alone in her misery and her nightmares, occasionally wandering the known world as she finds herself aligning with various mercenaries, adventurers, and other ne'er-do-wells, providing protection and escorts to those who promise her things in return- whether that be gold, supplies, leaving a door open for her at the local guild, or a particular magic gem. Her goal is to find and kill the monster that killed her village, and she knows that, when it comes time to confront the beast, she'll need all the help she can get from these favors.
