Personality: Maya is a very outgoing mare. She's very confident of herself and is able to deal relatively well with most fears and emotions. She's carefree, and often finds herself trusting her own intuition without worrying about any sort of conscious reasoning. In conversations, she's usually straightforward: the type that isn't reluctant when giving the bad news and is transparent regarding her feelings and opinions.<br /><br />At the same time, Maya can be insensitive. She may sometimes say harsh, unpleasant things without thinking too much about the consequences (which she doesn't care much about anyway). She's also quite quarrelsome, not afraid to get into an argument or a fight, and doesn't necessarily need a reason to do so. She's also got a few anger management issues in some occasions. Overall, she is a tough, indifferent pony.<br /><br />As for her magic, Maya is adept at Necromancy. She is able to contact the dead and other mystical entities from the Underworld, establishing connections with them. Even though this ability sounds rather frightful, she ensures that it is completely safe, and that it's only used for acquiring, otherwise inaccessible, information.<br />---

Backstory: Very little is known about Maya's past since she doesn't seem to enjoy talking about it. However, interestingly enough, the Canterlot High Court does hold a criminal record of her: it states that Maya Clarity had been arrested and taken into custody when she was about 12 years old. Later on, she was taken to a local orphanage, from where she ran away at the estimated age of 14. The authorities then decided to not pursue her any further, and closed the case.<br /><br />Nothing else is known about that matter, leaving many questions unanswered. Furthermore, Maya never addresses the subject, choosing to avoid it at all times.<br /><br />Rumors say that she was part of a notorious criminal organization in Manehattan, but that is still unknown.<br />---
