Appearance:

A rather impressive Saddle Arabian stallion of dark coat, striking yellow eyes and a limp, greyish mane that always seems to be billowing on the wind; One rather gets the impression that Monolith walked off the pages of some dime-store romance novel.

One thing you quickly learn when you have to cope with the constant chaos of the Cephalli Family is that you either join it or endure. The latter being a level of patience you've got to be born with and cultivate over years of practice. Or, just become as numbed to the endless barrage as Monolith has. A lifetime of getting caught between poorly aimed blows with a slow reaction time has granted him a wall of immovable muscle.

Despite being more than strong enough to stand for long periods of time, Monolith is often found sitting rigidly still & staring straight ahead over most ponies' heads, usually in the way, and giving the impression that he's waiting for something to happen that he's been planning for the longest time. He does always appear to be thinking, but that's almost impossible to tell under his flat affect & emotionless monotone voice.

Cutie Mark:

A tall, blank tablet ascending into the background with a yellow, pointy halo around it

Personality:

As tall, dark & handsome a black unicorn is, Monolith is just as numb socially as he is physically. Where Blither is simply shy, Monolith is completely devoid of tact or any social grace. He prefers to think of things like a math equation, set quantities & set answers.

Calm, logical & bluntly honest he is often the voice of reason to remind the others in the family that getting heated over petty arguments serves to no ends. Though he still has yet to grasp that constantly espousing wisdom & blunt honesty isn't the best way to go about making others NOT want to clock you one.

Intelligent but dull & forgetful, Monolith routinely has to be reminded by Blither that it might be a good idea to eat something else besides the occasional cup of tea.

He seems to somehow attract mares, which is a mystery to his brothers as he steadfastly refuses to make eye contact with anypony and the closest he gets to chivalry is concern over them getting a spot on their coats. Which could easily be ascribed to his annoying attention to detail.

Backstory:

In spite of his youth, Monolith has always been looked up to as the dependable, level-headed one & a good judge of character and most other things. Whenever the family has to take a vote on what to do(which happens almost every day) He usually serves as either a tie-breaker or the only one to sway the other votes.
