• (Mutant) Rubble

    Mephala
    • Age: N/A

      Gender: Male

      Species: Unicorn

Appearance: Rubble is a quilt of plastics, metals, rubbers, and other natural and synthetic materials. He has dark steel eyes, and his mane and tail are made of something soft and are a green-gray. He is broad and tall and much more durable than the regular flesh pony. Though he is technically genderless, Rubble was eventually modified to be male. He wears a body suit that disguises his true frame and makes him look more normal, though the stiff movements of his eyes make others suspicious. The body suit makes him appear to be a dark blue unicorn.

      Cutie Mark: N/A

Personality: Rubble is mostly silent-his voice is slightly computerized and it makes other uncomfortable to know they are talking to a machine. He is logical and disregards emotion for brains, though due to modifications he does have feelings. He tends to be a little harsh. He has some manner of contempt for “fleshy” ponies due to his natural durability and lack of need to rest, and because of his distrust of them. However, towards mutants like himself, he is very soft and caring.

Backstory: The first ever 100% synthetically created creature in Equestria, Rubble was created in a small, backwater lab in Decarth by several Delirium scientists looking to create a counter to Pluse, Industrios’ new spy mutant, which Delirium spies had been keeping tabs on for some time. (See Other for details on his anatomy and for a link to Pluse’s profile.) Rubble was trained to be the best, and due to the fact that he is basically a robot it was easy for the scientists to “program” him to listen. Rubble, as a result, made an effective unemotional unquestioning murderer, much more useful than the willful Pluse, who had a mind of her own and was difficult to train.
Since he did not age or grow tired, Delirium was incredibly proud of their achievement, and arrogant over their “defeat” of Industrios made his progress public to all of Addotir. This enraged Industrios, and a minor spat between the governments of the two countries began. However, this also reached the ears of the non-ponies of Decarth, who, in anger, prepared for war.
Eventually all three of the countries were in an uproar (Gogallt, in the north, had gotten involved as well), and Rubble was at the centre of it.
At this point, Pluse was reported to have escaped her lab, and a massive search for her began headed by Industrios and Delirium, who made false peace under the threat of her. However, in truth, they both just wanted Pluse for their own side. In this time, Rubble was near forgotten (despite being biologically more efficient than Pluse), and as a result it was easy for some Decarth extremists to kidnap him from the laboratory.
Though certain he faced death, it turned out that the Decarth extremists were actually cultists who worshiped a mysterious, unnamed entity. They wished to sacrifice Rubble to him, though a young hooded member who called himself Golem protested that Rubble could be used in their fight against the “heathens of Addotir”. Though it was argued that he was created by the very country they hated, Golem managed to win, and modifications to Rubble went underway.
It was an excruciating process to anyone, but Rubble could not feel pain at that point. Originally, he ran on a small electrically powered engine that required frequent charging. This practice was put in place due to the fact that the scientists were unable to alter the magical current. Somehow Golem was able to, and Rubble became a magically-run creature, requiring no charging; however, his life essence was contained within a small crystal stored deep inside his body, where the magic was trapped. If the crystal was accessed and destroyed, Rubble was rendered useless. He was, as a result, more heavily armoured. However, the process of giving Rubble the ability to use magic rendered his robotics useless, as he was now powered by magic; he could feel pain and emotion, though his physical body required no use for food or sleep. He also lost his genderless identity and is mostly referred to as being a male, though his anatomy shows no sign of this.
Whence finished and rehabilitated, Rubble was released back into Addotir, disguised as a dark blue unicorn. The hunt for Pluse was in full effect-it had been more than a year since the search started. He was now being looked for as well, though he was not caught thanks to his disguise.
Rubble lived on the streets. The fact that he needed no food nor sleep worked to his advantage-that is, until he met a young woman. She was near death, forced into the streets, where she caught a virus that, unless treated, could be fatal. The medicine was expensive, and having no money Rubble was forced to resort to stealing, but he had never done it before and was caught. Rather than be killed, he was sent to land of Slavek to learn to be a slave. He was not concerned for his own safety, though it was difficult pretending to eat when they were given food. However, all he cared about was the young woman he had met, and wondering if she was okay.
