Appearance: Dark blue mane with a red streak, black coat, pale gold eyes that seem to glow at night, with pupils a bit lighter and smaller than average due to his vision. His wings have a few feathers with small white highlights.

Personality: Night Dart's personality is an odd mix of easygoing and serious. He easily holds grudges, and hates when somepony does something for no good reason. <br />He has a long fuse, but once you've gotten to the other end, he has a red-hot temper. Luckily, it only comes in a short burst, and the fuse will grow back out in a few days' time. He is also hard to crack, but once in a blue moon, he can break, sealing himself off from the world for a few days.

Backstory: Night Dart was born in Cloudsdale before the King Sombra era, and he and his parents moved to the Crystal Empire when he was young. Being completely out of place, as he is a Pegasus, he got bullied quite often. He made friends with a filly named Diamond Dust, as she was half Pegasus, and bullied as well. They were close by the time King Sombra attacked. <br />One thousand years later, as he had been caught in Sombra's curse, he got lost in the Everfree Forest for days. A female Spirit of Darkness found him, and told him she would help him on two conditions, one of which would be a surprise. The other was surrendering part of his daytime vision to help him see in the dark. Having been in the Everfree for a week, he had broken down and had just wanted to go home, so he agreed. She helped him and he easily found his way out, getting out within an hour, earning his cutie mark. It was nighttime. Little did he know that the Spirit had followed him until he reached the edge, where she appeared in front of him. <br /><br />"What are you doing here?"<br />"This is the surprise."<br /><br />She shot towards him, possessing him. As he struggled to stay himself, she spoke again.<br />"Don't worry, it's only temporary. Today is destined to be the last night of my life. Once dawn arrives, I will die and leave you. Just let me have... my... fun..."<br />Her voice wasn't soothing, though, but it didn't matter, because she won out as soon as she stopped speaking.<br />He doesn't remember what happened next, but I will tell you.<br />His black coat got darker, his pale gold eyes seemed to glow, his pupils contracted and went paler, and his irises became redder. <br />His possessed body flew into the Empire and landed on a pony, and killed them. Others came to help, but the Spirit had him kill them too. By dawn, by the time Diamond Dust found him and smacked him, he had killed ten ponies. Eight of the casualties were Crystal Pony citizens, two were Princess Cadence's Royal Guards.<br />He was separated from his only friend, dragged away by more Guards. He stayed in a cell with a tiny barred window for a week, barely sleeping. He didn't try to get out. He didn't plead to see anypony. He knew that his wishes wouldn't be fulfilled, or he would seem suspicious. He found that the sight condition had been permanent. Sunlight gave him slight headaches, and he was far more nearsighted. At night, or in the dark, he had perfect vision, perhaps better. At the end of the week, he was called for his public hearing, to decide what would happen to him.<br />Cadence wanted to banish him to the Forest, but before it became official, Diamond Dust stepped up to defend him. <br />She told them that she noticed that he hadn't been himself. She had also gotten their classmates to talk about when he helped save them from slavery when Sombra attacked. Her reasoning saved him from banishment, but he did receive a punishment. It was working for the Guards and not seeing Diamond Dust often. Or anypony except his parents, for that matter. But Diamond Dust visited as often as she could.<br />After a few years of working for the Guards, he was released and allowed to see his friend and family again.<br />
