Cutie Mark: A crescent moon with three clouds, two overlapping at the bottom, and one behind the upper crescent.<br /><br />He obtained it by leaving his cavern, becoming the first bat pony there to see the moon. It symbolizes both his love of the night, and an adventurous spirit.

Personality: Fun-loving and lighthearted, he can be a little overly energetic a times. He's very adventurous, often getting into places he probably shouldn't be in, though he hasn't yet wandered someplace where he would get into serious legal trouble. ("Are you kidding? Why would I go in there. The sign very clearly states no entry. That door up there though...") He keeps a positive outlook most of the time, and can be a bit naive.<br /><br />However, when he becomes depressed, he becomes overly introspective and reclusive. His communication will shut down, he won't eat as much, and "The world doesn't look as pretty anymore."<br /><br />Also, he turns bashful at romantic processes. He pretends to hate the descriptor of cute, blushes frequently, and will try to hide his face because of the blushing. He attaches his feelings very easily to others and it's one of the quickest ways to break him. He will try pretty much anything to stay in good standing... so, uhh... try not to send him on a suicide run, those who would have his heart.

Backstory: Night comes from a very close-nit bat community in a small cave near the top of the time mountains. The entrance of this cave freezes over seasonally, which might terrify a newcomer, but is considered a blessing to the bats. The mountain insulates them during the winter, and the ice both lets light in for their mango groves, and provides the water needed to maintain their life. <br /><br />Night had a very important job in his community; clearing the ice from the various ducts in the rock so they could breath. The job had it's perks, but it was very boring, and somewhat dangerous. Bats had been known to freeze and fall from the cracks, resulting in broken limbs or... well, they didn't talk about the other possibility. Mostly broken limbs.<br /><br />When the next generation of ponies came around to clear the ducts of ice, his sense of responsibility faded, and the boredom of the task produced an itch to leave. During the summer thaw, he said his good byes, set of with a firm stack of supplies, and looked back only twice.<br /><br />In the 'world cave,' he faced certain amounts of... discrimination. He didn't know the culture and his appearance scared many. His concept of currency was... trade-based and may have gotten him into trouble. His nocturnal routine didn't help either. <br /><br />That said, he eventually came to an agreement with the ponies of Ponyville, who came to accept him in time. He has a small house in the top of a tree in the Everfree forest. It has a rope ladder down to the ground, and consists of only one level. There are three rooms, on of which leading to a 'landing platform'. It's not very big or fancy, but it's a good home for Night.<br /><br />Every night, he wakes up just before dusk to watch the moon rise.
