• Nightshade

    Evilshy

    • Age: 23

      Gender: Female

      Species: Pegasus

      Appearance: Pretty damn sexy ;)

Cutie Mark: A black, crescent moon, symbolizing the blackest of nights. The pony creator didn't scale it very well, so it looks a bit pixelly :(

Personality: Nightshade is fiercely loyal to Anarchy, and acts as an assassin, courier, and informant for him. She is extremely good at her job, and does them without question.
Nightshade prefers to hide in plain sight, masquerading as normal mare, beautiful and innocent. She enjoys flirting and even seducing men to get them to lower their guard, or just for fun.
She uses knives in combat, using her speed and agility to avoid her enemies attacks until she is close enough for a fatal or incapacitating strike. She is pretty good at throwing her knives, but as they're her most precious possession, she doesn't like to throw if there's a risk of losing them.
She has a knowledge of poisons, but seldom uses them, as she prefers to kill in another way (detailed in Backstory).

Backstory: Nightshade was born into a rich family in Canterlot. She was highly sheltered, given everything she asked for, but prevented from doing much on her own.
She was the only pegasus in a family of unicorns, a fact she constantly lamented. Unable to use magic, and flight being of little use when her parents so seldom let her go past the courtyard gate, she became increasingly envious of her magical family. With enchantments preventing her from flying too high above the manor, she never learned to control weather, further driving her into despair.
For years, her only escape was reading. She read all kinds of books, losing herself in fictional worlds, or learning new things, all to escape her own hated life. However, while reading did offer a temporary reprieve, it always ended up making her feel worse when she came back to reality.
Her only other pass time was taking advantage of what little room she had to fly in. She became an extremely fast sprinter, in the air and on the ground, and became and expert at maneuvering in limited areas, to the point she could fly indoors without touching anything.
Eventually, her family brought a therapist to the manor to help her get over her depression. Although he tried his hardest, he was unable to make Nightshade feel any better, and in fact, ended up only making her hate him as well.
Several months into therapy, Nightshade snapped and used a poison she had learned in her reading to kill the therapist. Coming back to her senses and horrified at the thought of getting caught, she acted as innocent as she could.
The investigation greatly upset her family, as they could not fathom how a pony could've been murdered in their home. Under great stress, Nightshade's father occasionally neglected to renew the enchantments preventing her from flying away, and she began to take advantage of this. She began to explore the city, sneaking around so as not to be seen by anybody who knew her family. Her sneaking naturally took her to some of the less reputable parts of Canterlot. It was there that she met Anarchy.
At first, Anarchy was merely amused at the little, sheltered pegasus and enjoyed hearing her lament her own life. Soon, he began to realize that under her depression, hatred smoldered, and he decided to take advantage of it. He began to talk of revenge, which got Nightshades attention. Anarchy then played his trump card; rune magic. He told her that there was a way for non-unicorns to use magic through the use of special symbols tattooed on the body with special techniques or inks. Nightshade was entranced by the possibility of using magic, and eagerly accepted Anarchy's offer to give her runes. He told her that runes place great strain on the body, and that she could only have 1, maybe 2 runes, and that she would have to choose carefully what type of magic she would like.
She thought long and hard about it over the next few days, but her plans came to a screeching halt when the investigation connected her directly to the crime. She tried to flee, but the royal guards held her down with magic. She was taken into custody, where she awaited the court to decide if she, a 15 year old filly with mental instability, should be charged with murder. Day and night, she was held in a small cell by powerful magic, unable to do anything without permission from the guards.
Anarchy broke her out of the dungeon and took her back to his hideout. She told him that before, she had wanted as much magic as she could have, but now what she wanted more than anything was to never be subject to a magic user again. Anarchy told her of a powerful rune that would make her unaffected by magic of any kind, as well as able to suck power out of objects or even other ponies. However, it came at a heavy price; it fed off life force, and would sap her strength if she could not find another source for it to feed off of.
She had the symbol placed on her tongue, to make it easier to hide, and reveled in her new ability to never be held down outside of physical injury, which she could often avoid with her high agility.

She flew back to her home one night to take revenge on parents. Her new rune made it easy to sneak in to their room while they were sleeping. After holding them at knifepoint and telling them what she had done, from killing the therapist to obtaining a rune, she casually bent down and kissed both of them, allowing the rune on her tongue to suck out their life force, killing them, and supplying her rune with several months of energy.
Nightshade found the feeling of the extra life energy coursing through her intoxicating, and didn't hesitate to kill her brother and two sisters in the same way. She then set the manor on fire and flew off into the night, eventually making her way back to anarchy's hideout. She has been loyal to him ever since.
