Appearance: In progress. Startlingly golden eyes.<br /><br />His appearance is not dissimilar to that of the Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights, which stream out of his tail in a RD/Lightning Dust-esque fashion when he flies quickly. A light flurry of powdery snow often accompanies the aurora, which fades from its initial reddish to the blue-green that roughly matches his coat after a few seconds.<br /><br />His coat is a lightish grayish teal. <br /><br />His mane is mid-length and wavy, and is mostly silvery, and sparkles faintly like a fresh, powdery snow does early in the morning. Its traced with reddish streaks, the colour of the aurora the moment it appears out of his tail, but these do not usually become visible unless he is flying.<br /><br />His voice is deep, slow, and confident. There's something inspiring in his voice. He isn't a very chatty pony, however.

Personality: Strange combination of proud and humble. He doesn't talk much.<br /><br />North Arrow is a cartographer, a mapmaker. He flies high over uncharted portions of Equestria and draws what he sees with his unusually sharp eyesight. When he sees a feature that intrigues him, usually he marks the spot and comes back later, to look at it more closely.<br /><br />North uses the money he earns from his job merely to sustain his simple way of living, and to fund his adventures. He spends no more money on himself than he needs to. <br /><br />However, when he's free, he generally returns to some of the more interesting places he found while on the job, and explores. The adventerous young stallion will explore anything from old ruined towers to crystal caves.<br /><br />Often, he will return from his adventures with loads of treasures and gems. However, he never keeps these or uses them for himself. Without exception, he always gives his shinier prizes away, preferring to take more modest medals of his journeys; an enchanted crystal, a strangely inscribed tablet, and bright orange eggshells are included in his collection.<br /><br />An imaginative and bold fellow, he can usually find a way to achieve his goals, whatever they may be. <br /><br />However, he is rather trusting, and can be manipulated or fooled. He has been known to before. He's not necessarily dim, either, just not the brightest bulb on the tree. He has just as many dim moments as he has brilliant ones.<br /><br />When not adventuring or creating maps of Equestria, North Arrow likes to spend his time swimming, or else drawing. As a cartographer, he obviously has exceptional skills with a pen and paper.<br /><br />He has a highly attuned sense of direction, and luckily has photographic memory, so he always knows exactly where he is, whether he has a map with him or not.

Backstory: In progress.<br /><br />North Arrow grew up in a poor family on the outskirts of Manehattan. He was raised by a single mother, an earth pony, who had two other children to take care of as well as North. North recieved some attention issues as a result.<br /><br />His mother always told him and his siblings tales about Robin Hooves, who lived in ancient Equestria (Probably around the same time as Starswirl the Bearded), and how he was always giving to the poor and needy, like their family. North was taken in by these stories, and even as a foal, he knew one day he would have the same effect on people as his storybook hero did.
