Appearance: Nova has a dark blue coat, darker blue mane and tail with golden accents and has orange eyes. She's usually fairly confident in appearance, and rarely shows her true emotions.
Cutie Mark: An atom with 3 electron orbits. Symbolizing her innate talent with manipulating things at the atomic level.
Personality: Nova Strings is a confident mare, with a cocky attitude. She likes to play up her strength on the outside, regardless of how she truly feels within. She loves to practice her magical abilities, ranging from mild healing spells to changing the atomic structure of things. Though her special ability seems quite powerful, she must also remember the consequences of meddling with the natural order within things. Sometimes she ends up doing more harm than good, but means well in the end.
Backstory: Nova strings began her life as many ponies do. She lived happily with her family in a small town near Canterlot. Ponyville, as it is known, was Nova's home for most of her foalhood. She grew up with her close friends, and knew almost everypony in the town. She discovered her love for science at an early age, and was spurred on by support from her parents. Eventually she discovered a great interest in microscopic, and sub-microscopic science, studying further and further into the use of magic which could change things at the molecular, or even atomic level. Once she had fully understood her interest, that is when her cutie mark appeared, a symbol of her natural talent. Not long after this, her parents chose to move into the city of Canterlot, for business reasons. Her father had taken a job in the medical sciences division in the Canterlot research labs. Nova, against every will, was forced to move with them, not being old enough at the time to take on her own life yet. She despised the city, and lived without friends for a long while before meeting up with a small group. One of which went by the name of Clockwork Green, a local timepiece maker's son, who was working as an apprentice. They soon became very close, and over time, even inseparable. As time went on, Nova began finding her talents coming into play more and more, as she began to apply under a line of work that her father had taken before her. Medical science was her passion, and she became extremely well practiced in it. As she began to reach the age where she could get her own home, and begin her life away from her parents, she started to notice a change in Clockwork. Most of their friends had seemingly turned against him. It seemed odd to her, Clockwork had never treated her badly, nor anyone she knew openly. Perhaps it was them?<br />Eventually Clockwork became isolated, Nova was the only friend he had, loyal to the end. She took pride in knowing she could keep him company where so many others cared not to, and he appreciated her immensely. Then one day, things began to get strange. Clockwork requested that she help him implant a strange set of false wings, which he'd been working on for some time. She reluctantly did so, helping him to adapt to the new appendages. Soon after this, she went mysteriously missing for about a week, and nopony knows where she went, nor would she speak about it. She didn't even remember what had happened, and regardless of that, she wouldn't sell her only true friend out, even if he had done something horrible. She was loyal to a fault, and soon became Clockwork's right hand pony. She followed him everywhere, doing his bidding, and serving his needs wherever he chose to go, whatever he chose to do. She was there by his side. Many rumours went around about Clockwork having done something to Nova's mind in the time she'd gone missing, but nothing could be proven, and regardless of that, she didn't seem interested in exposing anything if there was anything there to know.
