(Pair) Vindicta And Varus

Appearance: Vindicta is a deep grey pony with a windswept black mane with one deep blue eye and one emerald eye. A large black braid hangs down past her right ear. She has a silver nose piercing. She has a short tail and dark freckles across her muzzle. She's rather small and thin by pony standards but has a wiry strength about her. She wears a dark brown leather strap about her upper left leg with a small silver hoop on it.<br /><br />Varus is a gray-blue dragon with bright yellow-green eyes. He is rather largely sized and has a long barbed tail and very sharp teeth and claws. His head is a bit flat and he has several spines running along it, as well as almost cat-shaped ears. A few strangle darker lines run along his face horizontally. His wings are very large and almost feathered-like. He is usually wearing a brown saddle with a matching hoop to Vindicta's; this is because she hoops herself onto him so she can ride him. He is not able to speak. Varus has the ability to shrink himself down to the size of a common lizard.

Cutie Mark: Vindicta's cutie mark is a claw with a leather strip wrapped around it, representing her ability to communicate and command dragons.

Personality: Vindicta is commandeering and dominant, with a strong thirst for ponies to understand and accept dragons rather than harm them. She saved Varus one day, and ever since then the two have been a pair. She tends to be a bit boastful and rude, but she is relatively harmless unless you piss her dragon off. She has a special aptitude with reptiles, especially, well, dragons, but is a bit awkward around ponies.<br /><br />Like her scaly friends, she is loyal once you get to know her and she trusts you, but before that she's a bit twitchy and spiteful.

Backstory: Vindicta grew up in a very warlike part of Decarth, the land south of Equestria, but despite her fiery attitude she wasn't much one for figthing. She one day found a small injured lizard with interesting markings near her home, and she took him home with her to heal him. The lizard never left, preferring to stay by her side. She named him Varus, and the two were close as they lived together for many years.<br /><br />One day, a rogue dragon attacked their village. Though the residents were ready for most attacks, a dragon was not one of them, so when a second appeared they were shocked as it attacked its kin. Though it didn't kill the dragon it sent it away. Noting the strange markings on the newcomers face, Vindictia realized that it was Varus somehow transformed. The villagers turned on the dragon, thinking that it planned to attack them next, but Vindictia stopped them, explaining that it was just Varus. When the people turned violent on her, Varus encouraged her to get on his back and he flew away.<br /><br />Once Vindicta realized the situation she was in, she and her newfound dragon led to Equestria, but their reception there was less than friendly. Varus was forced to resume the shape of a lizard again, but when they settled in a rural area, she was able to fly him every so often.<br /><br />The Equestrian military, of course, discovered this eventually, and demanded the assistance of the girl. Refusing to do so, she created a story that she had released Varus, as they did not know of his shape-shifting ability. As a result, she was able to avoid that, but she was still conscripted into the military, where she is currently still serving in her final year.
