Appearance: He has a somewhat dark grey coat, with an almost black mane and tail. He wears a long, black overcoat, a black fedora, and a long piece of red licorice hanging out of his mouth.

Cutie Mark: His cutie mark is that of a white magnifying glassing in front of a couple of white question marks. It represents his special talent for finding answers and asking unseen questions.

Personality: He tries his best to be a loner, but no matter what, he always ends up working with a select few ponies at any given time. He is a tried and true hard-boiled detective, gritty, blunt, and full of snark. However, is isn't very trusting of mares, due to what his mother did to his dad.

Backstory: Phil Noir was born in the underbelly of the city of Manehattan. His father worked for the Manehattan times as a printer, and his mother left them and skipped town in the middle of the night to join a caravan; without telling either of them why. With his father a complete wreck, and Phil himself wondering why his mom would do something like this, he decided to find her. It took him several years of track her down, city by city, encountering ponies from all walks of life, making a few enemies, and even fewer friends. He eventually found his mother, who turned out to have fallen for another pony, and decided to leave. From there, heart broken, he went home, told his father what happened, and then went to join the Manehattan Police department as a Detective.
