He usually thinks of others before acting, unless he feels like whatever he is about to do benefits him or his kind.

Being a Naga Pony, Sidewinder often distrusts ponies. He believes that ponies will be quick to judge him as a monster, so he acts like a dictator to prove them right.

Deep down, Sidewinder would like to be the snake pony that united his kind with the rest of Equestria. However, he feels like the ponies of today are not mature or open minded enough to embrace his kind.

Around other species, (gryphon, dragon, zebra ETC.) Sidewinder is cautious. He tries to figure them out to see if they are like the rest of Equestria or if they are different.

Sidewinder tries to hide the fact that he is royalty. He tries to be like the common snake ponies out there. He often tries to dress in ratty clothes and act in a crude manner instead of being regal.
Backstory: Sidewinder was hatched into a wealthy and powerful family. His mother and father were King and Queen of the largest collection of snake ponies.

His family were elite fighters and often hunted ponies for sport; ponies who wandered into their territory. Sidewinder often participated in the hunts, but mostly spent his days connecting with his kind that were not as rich as him.

The territory Sidewinders Family owned was in a forest similar to the forests in the swampy region of Equestria. The difference is this forest was bordered with the dusty mountains.

As Sidewinder grew older, he began to be taught to be regal and more refined. Sidewinder did not like this and began to question his upbringing. The nagas around him loved and respected him and his family, but Sidewinder felt there was a better way to earn their trust and respect.

Sidewinder told his parents a white lie, stating that he wanted to get more nagas in the territory. To do this he would have to leave the territory for a while. His parents agreed on the condition that he would be the king when he came back. Sidewinder reluctantly agreed and set off.

Sidewinder began his travels, coming across many ponies who either chased him, or tried to capture him for his scaly tail. Sidewinder always had run ins with the ponies local authorities. They would always shout that he was a monster and made the ponies hide in their homes.

Sidewinder went around Equestria fearful of ponies. His fearfulness soon became anger. Sidewinder began to hate the ponies and soon acted like a monster like they made him out to be.

One day, Sidewinder came across an elderly pony who showed no sign of fear or hostility. Instead the elderly pony offered him a cup of tea. Perplexed by the pony he accepted the offer and began to talk with her. The Elderly pony heard Sidewinders tale and passed onto him words of advice.

"If you spend your whole life mulling on what others think of you, you will never find true happiness and peace with your inner self."

Sidewinder thanked the elderly pony and went on his way. Sidewinder now goes throughout Equestria trying to find peace with himself and others.
