Cutie Mark: Princess Nightingale's cutie mark is a black silhouette of a flying bird with a dark red song note next to it. Her talent is singing. She sings with nightingales (and other birds) in the palace gardens; sometimes she sings the first notes and the birds answer, or the other way around. (She is the "Princess of Song", after all)

Personality: Ebony is awkwardly shy. She usually doesn't know how to begin conversations, but will attempt one to be polite. Otherwise, she's pretty quiet.She doesn't actually smile unless given a reason to; she's mainly frowning or slightly scowling otherwise. Her voice is usually a bit monotone, unless, again, she has reason to show emotion. Despite the cold exterior, she tries her best to be kind, polite, and generous, and will help anyone if they need it. She doesn't know many ponies apart from her personal guard, and she's lonely because of it. She hates being royalty because she feels everyone is afraid of her because of her title. She's hard on herself and blames herself for a lot of things. Despite all the bitterness she carries, she can actually be quite happy and mischievous, depending on who she's with. She loves singing, and will do so to lift her mood. She and Octavia will perform together at high class events, which she usually doesn't want to attend, but will nonetheless (mainly because Cutter forces her to). She's scared of the dark, and a powerful Light Spell is the peak of her magical abilities (apart from accidentally teleporting once or twice from a build up of emotion/magic (not including Treachery, as Treachery is mainly a mind-set with an altered appearance)).

Backstory: Her parents were killed in a carriage accident when she was younger when they were on their way to the Gala (they lived in Trottingham prior), in which she was the only survivor. The guard who brought her back to Canterlot (Alfred Cutter) was a close friend of her father's and became her personal guard/guardian afterwards. She stayed away from other ponies after her parents were killed, so she doesn't have many friends. She lets the friends she does have call her Ebony; she doesn't like being called Princess by ponies that are close to her. She feels guilt for being the only survivor in the carriage accident and barely spoke the years following it.<br />She now resides in Canterlot Castle with her "adopted" Aunt Celestia (they have the Cadance and Celestia relationship)and usually hides out in her room, mainly because she has nothing else to do.
