    • Age: 27

      Gender: Male

      Species: Non-Pony

Personality: While not overtly hostile, friendliness is by no stretch of imagination a trait that comes to him naturally. His deep-seated contempt for the inhabitants of Paragon City, which he has cultivated for the better half of a decade, combined with the constant threat of death or misdirection has seen to it that his first reaction to anyone is reflexive suspicion and casual manipulation. This presents him with a conflict, as Ponyville and Equestria in general seems to be a polar opposite to the state of perpetual near-doom he’d existed in during his stay in Paragon. Thus, he is aware that everything that has by now become a pattern is no longer necessary, or even counterproductive in his new residence, but he is also aware that suspicion has served him extremely well, and the fact that Equestria is to all intents and purposes a dream come true for him, he hasn’t shaken the possibility that his entire experience may be an elaborate illusion. Regardless, he suffers from a chronic case of “helper addiction” and is nearly incapable of relaxing.. While not exactly deriving his raison d’etre from helping others, it has nonetheless become something of a psychological addiction, although one he is completely blind to. He tends to approach problems headfirst and takes great effort to, as he refers to it, “maintain intellectual integrity”, analyzing every situation and possible outcomes regardless of what his preferred result would be. He has said on occasion that “what you don’t know can’t hurt you. It’ll go for the kill instead.” Regardless, while he take care to avoid self-delusion, it makes him no less susceptible to incorrect conclusions and outright blind spots.

Backstory: It wouldn’t be quite true to say that Quinch’s entrance into Equestria was a violent one, although the moments preceding it certainly were. A hero by profession operating out of Paragon City on Primal Earth, he was sent to Equestria by a hostile mage, although that he landed in Equestria was pure serendipity, as the spell was used with a focus on distance, rather than destination.
