Appearance: Rainbow Shine is a pink mare with a rainbow mane and tail. Her eyes are a shockingly bright electric blue, as is her bow. Rainbow Shine will never go anywhere without her bow, rarely even taking it off when she sleeps. She's the 'natural beauty' pony who doesn't wear make up. Her only accessory is her bow, only bringing out the color of her eyes.
Cutie Mark: Heart outlined from the outside-in in a reverse rainbow order (starting on the outside with purple, then blue, etc.) Each color representing a different kind of pony she's befriended (each being in a separate way).
Personality: Rainbow Shine is an Earth pony mare with the heart of a filly. She will love everypony unconditionally, and will do anything in her power to make them smile. Shine here is a foal-sitter for almost every filly and colt in Ponyville, because being so playful, she fits right in! Rainbow Shine is the pony you can always turn to- for anything! She's also a very adventurous pony, loving to go and see new places and be in new situations. Ask her to go on an adventure and she'll be right by your side. But aside from all this, she's still a very sensitive pony, who doesn't like being hurt, or seeing her friends hurt. Rainbow is surprisingly defensive though, (especially of her bow) so don't get her angry!
Backstory: As an infant, Rainbow Shine was dropped off at an orphanage. Nopony knows who or where her parents are. On her twelfth birthday, after all those years without being adopted, she ran away. For the next ten years, she wandered Equestria, searching for a place to call home. Everywhere she went she was ridiculed for being different, or for not having her cutie mark yet. She was hurt and used time and time again until she stumbled upon Ponyville. It was the first place that openly welcomed her, the first place to show her love. Shine soon became the town foalsitter, and now owns her own house in Ponyville. It was in Ponyville that Rainbow Shine finally earned her cutie mark- a seven-layered heart, each layer a color of the rainbow. For each layer is an experience behind it. Her cutie mark represents her unconditional love to everypony around her, no matter who they are. Rainbow's personality comes from her background as well. Never getting a chance to be a filly, she acts and lives like one in her adulthood. It's why she's so good with children! Another part of her personality that comes from her past is her defensiveness of fillies and colts. Again, Shine wasn't loved throughout her life, and went through a lot of harsh things that no filly should go through. And it's because of that, that Rainbow doesn't want them to experience what she did growing up. That being said, she does get angry from time to time, and she becomes almost her polar opposite. So in just a few words, don't get her angry! And if you do, let her simmer down, she'll always forgive you in the end.
