Personality: Red is very quiet. He's very shy, and he'll say next to nothing when you first meet him. Once he opens up to you, he will tell you stories he had about traveling the world.

Backstory: Red Crystal never knew his mother. He grew up living with his father Sand Crystal, who some ponies mistook him for his grandfather, being forty-five years older than Red.<br /><br />Red learned glassblowing when he was a kid, but discovered his talent in a coffee shop when a jazz band was missing a member. After a quick lesson on the drums, he played with them. He had a lot to learn, but they wanted him to come back sometime, which he did. He learned his way through the instruments, and eventually perfected the string bass. While he enjoyed it, Red had a feeling his father thought he would never make money on it, and wanted him to open his own glass shop.<br /><br />To prove his father wrong, Red left the house in the middle of the night with only a three sentence note to pursue a jazz career. So far, he's had no luck, but he's determined to keep going, so he travels across Equestria with his second hand electric bass, pocket amplifier, and trumpet to find his niche, and show his father he can make it on his own.
