• Red Thread

    Widdershins
    • Age: Young adult, approx 31

      Gender: Female

      Species: Unicorn

Appearance: Red Thread has porcelain white coat & complexion that's only gotten paler as of late due to her typically only leaving her cottage at night. She has long, limp, pitch black mane that she doesn't take too much care of, usually letting it droop to one side and only trimming it when it starts getting in the way of her work.

The most vibrant part of her appearance is the bright, blood red hue to her eyes that sit below heavy-lidded, naturally long eyelashes.

Cutie Mark: One long, bright scarlet thread looped down and over itself into a drop shape. Sort of like if you took a capital U and bent the ends over each other, if that helps you picture it.

It is supposed to represent her connection & care of pets & small animals.

Personality: In spite of her Gothic look & general messiness of her surroundings, Red Thread is a sincerely shy & kind pony. While she very much appreciates friendship she tends to avoid social situations whenever possible. Due to some trauma in her past, she is rather obsessed over death and tends to be a huge downer in most social gatherings & conversations.

Red rarely takes effort into pursuing friendship, as she is well aware that her reputation around town tends to scare off other ponies. Under her low self-esteem and self-neglect, Red has a sort of buried beauty to her but seldom considers the chance that any stallion might take interest in her.

Red has always had a deep love for animals, though she can at times forget to feed them.
Backstory: Red Thread originally got her cutie mark as a young filly when her parents bought her a gerbil at a pet store as her first pet. Sadly, not more then a few days into caring for him, Red made the mistake of turning her back on Mr.Fluffypaws when out playing in the front yard to talk to her mother. When Red returned she was stunned to find that the neighbor's cat had got to her new friend. The cat, with the best of intentions, tried to console her the only way it knew how, by dropping the mutilated corpse of her only friend into her lap.

After years of therapy to get over her spiraling depression, Red, now as a young mare, got a job as a veterinarian's assistant & pet care specialist and saved up enough bits to move to a small town in Fetlockland. (my Equestrian parallel to England/Scotland)

Still haunted by her obsession of death, she bought a small cottage on the outskirts of town that bordered the local pet semetary.

Perhaps driven by her bedraggled appearance, her preference of living place, or the small, somehow ever-growing herd of listless, seemingly diseased pets she keeps around her yard, rumors have begun circling around the native townsfolk of Dolemy Downs. Most locals only begrudgingly do the rare spot of business with her & some of the more short-minded young colts around the county have started referring to her as "Red Thread, the DeadHead." Not helping these allegations are the odd witness claiming to have seen posh carriages driven up to her cottage in the dead of night with deliveries of large, heavy wooden boxes.
