Sometimes to comical effect being known to sometimes yelling at strangers,he had welcomed only moments ago, for trespassing or repetitively asking the same question after having been given the answer.

He loves to tell stories of his prime, sometimes to exaggerated effect. This is because his memories and trinkets are all he has to show for after a left of a life of crazed adventure.
Backstory: Redrock grumplestone is a man who had lived quite a grand life. In his prime he had experienced more than most stallions would have had in 2 generations; He had seen Ponyville's founding, had travelled to the far off lands of Griffinstone, and even been to Canterlot on multiple occasions.
He crossed paths with ponies that have both set the world in fits of joyous laughter or bouts of sorrowful tears and ,most important of all,he had married the love of his life, his Childhood sweetheart, Emerald stoneheart, on a rainy Monday morning on a grassy hill in front of what is now known as the Ponyville tower.

In his prime, Red rock was known by many of his fellow rock farmers as a master of his art, he could glance at a large stone and tell you it's exact mineral composition. He could break boulders the size of small hills in mere minutes and his most proud moment of all, taking on Igneous Rock in an epic rock farming competition that lasted weeks, they tied of course, but the struggle got him a worthy rival and a lifelong friend.

It had now been decades since his youth, the adventurous rough and tumble stallion once known as Red rock was now known by a different moniker,"Old Man Grumples". His old and worn out limbs and bones now but a shadow of his once towering physique. The trinkets and souvenirs he had taken on his travels now lay scattered and dusty around his Ponyville abode. The friends he had made, the heroes he had looked up to, and the mare he loved are now naught but mere memories and pictures in an old book. Yet, what is left of him is still what he holds most dear, his memories,The great epic adventurous he had went through, the trials and struggles, and the heart felt victories is all he has left to show for after a life time of travel.
