Personality: Rip Tide is a pegasus pony with a passion to fly close to the oceanic waves, regardless of the risk. He is also an adrenaline seeker when it comes to extreme sports, but is also quite sociable with other ponies, like Techie. Whenever there is a race, Rip Tide is always up for a challenge. Also, Rip Tide proclaims himself as a "colt with the 'tude", although despite his cockiness, he also tends to be dimwitted, most likely from his head jammed inside by Rainbow Dash, who mistakes for Princess Celestia into thinking that she lowered the sun by mistake.

Backstory: Like Techie, Rip Tide was a young pegasus colt in Kacolt'olawe, who has been flying along with the waves as close as possible from the beaches, despite his safety concerns. He earns his cutie mark while riding long the waves without hurting himself, which made him happy. He is also a great friend of Techie, who looks up to him as an older brother, and has told Techie "Bros 'till the end.", as he and Techie grew older.<br /><br />After hearing that Techie has moved to Canterlot and one of his friends mentioning about CLoudsdale, Rip Tide becomes more willing and confident to head on to Cloudsdale, but is left undecided on whether to remain Kacolt'olawe or visit Canterlot and later Cloudsdale to see Techie once again. Eventualy, he had begun his journey to fly over to Canterlot by himself to pay a visit to his old friend Techie once more, although after his long journey, he decides to take a break in Ponyville after his long flight from his home island to a friendly town of Equestria.
