Cutie Mark: A ruby giving off light.<br /><br />Story: When he was a young colt, he was playing around on some clouds around sunset, and noticed a small glow on the ground nearby. He flew to the ground to investigate the object, and discovered it to be a decently-sized ruby. He took it home to Cloudsdale and slowly chiseled away at it until it resembled some sort of art. He felt proud about it, and earned his cutie mark for his ability of crafting artwork out of gems. Not too long after that, another jealous colt destroyed Rubescent's work. Since then, he has never felt proud of anything he has ever done.

Personality: Generally sarcastic and brash. Likes the limelight. He is shameless in a bad way; in that he feels no remorse or regret for his decisions...most of the time at least. Prefers to be in the present more than anything, and likes to lead his life in a simple way. Prefers not to let himself have any sort of romantic interest. Finds it amusing to create drama. Thinks of his talent as useless, and hates when ponies talk about his cutie mark...or even look at it.

Backstory: He was born in Ponyville, and lived there for about 2 years, until his parents and him moved to Cloudsdale. Around age 9, he found a ruby, and earned his cutie mark when he crafted it into a work of art. When a jealous colt destroyed Rubescent's artwork, it affected him in a way that would change him forever. He decided to become a "bad guy." For the next 9 years of his life he took that role, and continues to even now. He has been living a "boring" life in Cloudsdale since age 2 and hopes to eventually find more to his life than what he sees currently.
