Appearance: Ruby was bestowed her name due to her luscious dark rose mane, that she enjoyed keeping long and light. She felt it helped keep the attention off of her much duller, silver coat which had quite the opposite appearance to her mane and tail. She is quite small for her age, with a well-rounded build thanks to her constant efforts to keep in shape and strong.

Cutie Mark: Her cutie mark consists of a thin shard of dark red crystal, which gleams and shines on her flank in an alluring fashion.

Personality: She tends to enjoy spreading her positivity to the ponies around her, with a warm smile and a gentle voice. Her fighting prowess is incredibly limited, and her peace-loving, kind intentions will do little to help her in the face of any attacks, often relying on her family to do the dirty work for her. However, for all of her outward happiness and joy, she is shy of most public situations or talking with strangers.

Backstory: Ruby was just another pegasus to live along the rich and well-known Hearthstone family line, which dated back thousands of years before Equestria's inception. Despite priding themselves on their military service, Ruby was born into a richer part of the family, quickly gaining knowledge to succeed in the world of high Canterlot society. <br /><br />Despite this, it was a mere three years before Ruby found herself escaping her family to form the foundations of a new life in Ponyville. Her time in Canterlot exposed her to the poor wealth distribution in Equestrian society, constantly seeing beggars and homeless ponies in the streets being tossed aside by the rich and wealthy snobs. She decided to escape it all and go to a town which she knew was better, where things were more equal and friendly among ponies.
