Age: Unknown, but old enough to have a grown up son.

Gender: Female

Species: Unicorn

Appearance: Dark blue fur with mane and tail in lighter blues. Her horn is slightly bent, which signifies her darker take on life.

Cutie Mark: A spade, a diamond and a heart inside a club motif. It represents Shadow Star's skill at gambling and playing cards.

Personality: Shadow Star tends to look on the dark side of life. She has a tendency to fits of depression, and under the influence of alcohol is prone to fits of temper. She cheats if she can get away with it, too, and is not beneath using her magic to ensure that she wins.

Backstory: Shadow Star married very young, but her husband left her when her foal was born, without giving a reason. She hasn't seen him since. Shadow Star neglected her colt Diego a lot; she hit the bars and clubs in Equestria, playing cards and drinking cider and as a result is very distant from her son. Shadow Star feels she can't exist without either alcohol or gambling. She has taken mercenary work before, and is good at it, but she can be distracted by gaming and drinking.
