Sherbet Swirl

Cutie Mark: Sherbet has a vanilla milkshake with two hearts around it. It appeared the day after she shared a milkshake with the stallion she had a crush on (the stallion who promptly broke her heart by declaring his love for another mare two days later). She's always loved being in love, and is a hopeless romantic. Sherbet saw the cutie mark appear when the stallion she loved so much showed interest in another mare; she arranged for the two of them to meet. The cutie mark appeared when she saw the two nuzzling noses, sharing a vanilla milkshake in the very same booth Sherbet had shared with him.<br /><br />It was then that she realized that she loved being in love, but she wanted other ponies to be happy as well. Matchmaking was her destiny, and she became quite renowned for it.

Personality: Sherbet is soft, bubbly, and very excitable. She's also a complete romantic, falling in love at the drop of a hat, and following attractive stallions around whenever possible. She's a bit too needy for most stallion's tastes, as she has very low self-esteem and is rather clingy. She also has a major sweet tooth which is the root of her weight gain, and very poor self control when it comes to candy or pastries. <br /><br />She's a follower, not a leader, and a lover, not a fighter. If you give her an order or shout at her, she'll follow the order or burst into tears; Sherbert's quite sensitive, and a bit of a damsel in distress. <br /><br />While ponies come to her when they need romantic advice, she has terrible luck with romance herself; it's some kind of bad luck which she could never shake after she got her cutie mark - so failed romance after failed romance struck, while the ponies she coupled together blossomed and fell deeply in love. <br /><br />Despite this, she's managed to keep an upbeat attitude about the whole thing, and thinks the right stallion is out there. Hence the stallion-following.

Backstory: Sherbet was a well-bred little filly in Canterlot, the third foal of her parents, and decidedly the most un-talented. While her brother's math skills surpassed everyone in school and her sister's artwork wowing everyone who saw it, Sherbert remained in her room, sighing over handsome colts who would never notice her, and eating marshmallows. Her parents grew concerned over her shyness, and sent her out to interact with other fillies her own age; that's when Sherbet discovered that the elitest ponies of Canterlot were especially cruel to chubby ponies, and largely ignored her, or made her the whispered butt of their jokes. <br /><br />Shunned and laughed at, she pleaded with her parents to send her to a private academy, which they did. It was only then that Sherbert began to really blossom socially, but realized that ponies simply used her skills at matchmaking and kept a polite distance from her. <br /><br />The lovelorn pony finally graduated without any real friends, although she remained curiously upbeat on the outside. Inwardly, she was beginning to wonder whether or not her special somepony would ever show up, and struck out for Ponyville, where her aunt lived. She's only been there for a few weeks, and has yet to make any real acquaintance with anypony, except Pinkie Pie of course.
